Thanks bro!

Like I said, don't expect miracles to happen, but I can promise you'll be happy with the outcome compared to paint pens/sticks. In about 30 days after curing, you can polish it too.

wow! that's came out great! I have a chip on my door that's been there since day 1 (bought my FX used), and I didn't even notice it til later. I might have to look into this

Will it work for deep scratches

Deep scratches, yes most of the time. Light scratches don't work as the paint needs something to lay in it. Scratches you could catch your finger nail in works best.

I plan on using the paint pens primarily to use as factory paint for either this system or the Langka system. I decided to go with the Langka system, so we will see how it goes...It works in a similar fashion...hoping to get results like Aaron in the spring.

Pretty good video of how langka works:

What is interesting though is Langka says have it stay on for numerous hours, preferably even over a day or two....this system Aaron uses says much shorter timeframe. I wonder why.

I've also bought and used the Dr. Colorchip kit and was very pleased with the results. My car is Autumn Copper and the paint match is perfect. One bit of caution though, sometimes it takes more than one pass. During the rubbing phase, you can accidentally remove too much from the chip, necessitating the need for multiple passes. It actually works better with a moderate size chip. The rear fender sandblasting takes a couple passes for sure.

Thanks man:tup:

I did forget to mention that if the chip is deep enough, you can wait in between days to layer the paint

Interesting. I already have a good sized one from all the highway construction in the VA area. I think i'll buy this and give it a shot.

Would the paint stick just as well to the plastic on the bumper as it would on the metal hood?

Ofcoarse! But I do recommend cleaning the area first with some diluted alcohol to insure there is no wax or other contaminants on the surface of the chip to insure a good bond with the car.

You can wax the area a week after applying the Dr.Colorchip touch up paint for some protection. If you want to polish it though, you'll have to wait 30 days for that as the paint needs time to cure.

Hope that helps:wink:

Forgot to mention that people with metallic colored flakes in the paint will have a hard time matching the paint with the rest of the car. Ofocarse it will matched, but it will be kind able to be seen. The reason why is cause you'll never be able to get the flakes in the paint to spread evenly. This is normal though as it is like this with every touch up paint. That's why when you have your car resprayed, the bodyshop always blends in the surrounding panels as they can never get the metallic flakes to spray as even as it did out of the factory.

Mine ofcoarse doesn't have metallic flakes as it's just plain black obsidian. Plain colors like that are easy, metallic flake paint is just a little tricky.

THANK U very much..

BUT I couldn't find the colour I need
These are the colours the site has

http://www.drcolorchip.com/select-color.php?year=2009&make=Infiniti&model=FX35&search=Go

I need a colour that is called Midnight Mocha like this
http://www.infiniti-ksa.com/en/shopping_tools/buildtool.selectcolor.fx.grade.fx35.html

Where it says start order here on the right side of the main page, you have to manually put in the color code number yourself since Midnight mocha is a more specific color. You can locate the color code of your car on the driver side door frame.

Just made another purchase today on this stuff. Looking over the car today I noticed some new rockchips on the bumper, hood, doors, and a few on the A pillar. I ordered the giant sized bottle this time haha

nope removed a long time ago cause it was starting to yellow and looked like shit. My cousin removed his off his IS250 cause it was also starting to turn yellow.

My clear bra started dry rotting after 6 years. I waited way too long to take it off.

Great job on the chip repair. I've seen this DIY over on autogeek as well and I think you finally sold me on the purchase. I have chips allllllll over the car. Prolly need the mega bottle.
