ugh my rear passenger door does not unlock...I have to do it manually :-/

My Pass Front AND Rear Actuators just went out. I replaced the rear one in about 35-40 minutes by myself. I still have to replace the front actuator. The rear was more important since its a Pain in the Ass getting a baby in and out, when your rear pass door doesn't lock/unlock. I have the front actuator sitting in the garage...just not looking forward to taking out the window. Rears actuator is VERY simple, you dont even have to take out the window..just 8 screws.

Total cost of both actuators $380. Hopefully you can get yours in on warranty. If its not under warranty, I got mine from Tony at Riverside Infiniti, he gave me the best deal. You can find him on the G35driver forum.

your still under warranty right?

I have the extended warranty so winter break or something i'll get it fixed...its really not that important just another thing to be annoying lol...I dont drive around 6 people like I used to anymore....trying to keep it to 3 max.

feeling the love with replys lol.....

here's a video of my current setup taken today to compare to the video I will take when I have the HFC's installed (friday) but for some reason youtube decided to make it look as shitty as possible quality wise.....sorry about that

Cant wait to hear the difference and to see what you think, Im looking at either Headers or HFC's, ive been leaning more towards the cats as it wont be as loud as the headers will be...

But i want to know what you think and it adds any drone while your cruising..

I guess we'll have to see haha I'm getting them installed on friday

sup every one

I am actually going to take people's advice and do "little" DIY mods here and there to keep my mind off of the expensive stuff.

- samco hoses for the engine bay
-can't decide yet: either blue or red
http://www.optionsauto.com/products.asp?dept=6188
- painting my upper plenum
- am either going to do a simple gloss color to match the hoses, chrome, metallic flake, or the "mirage" look....
http://www.duplicolor.com/products/engine.html
http://www.duplicolor.com/products/metalspecks.html
http://www.duplicolor.com/products/mirage.html

also am looking at those JDM harness covers.... hmmmm
///7111 but should probably use that $ towards something else

but i am not sure which will work with the heat of the engine/keeping it's look.
kind of aiming for the mirage look for the plenum because i think it would look cool.....
or I may just do everything in black/gloss black haha then i will paint other random things in the engine bay to look better....
because not that I care: but people are always like "that engine is ugly" and I hate the engine cover so i thought it was time to spice things up a bit... and to keep money in my account and get my hands dirty

Ok i'm new to this thread, but saw it in the "New Post"section so started reading it.

Saw your question about the engine damper and was interested in knowing more about that as well......
SO start reading all 15 pages :err: and finall result....still don't know if it 'll fit or not
Does anybody have any pics of a G or Z with this damper one so we can look into the part if it 'll fit or not......or maybe with some adjustments.....??

Further Jbaker....great modding and enjoy them buddy....

Can you till me the costs of the TS ECU flash...?? I'm planning on getting one myself and was wondering what the costs woule be exactly. Remember reading somewhere around 500-600 or such.......

the engine damper won't fit the FX unless you make a custom one

the ecu reflash/tune is $550 only problem is that's within the US because he usually does a 2 days tun around, but if your in the Netherlands it will definitely take longer or cost more......

Ok were did you found this out eventually...?? And what do you mean by custom...?? The damper or the brackets.....??

Yeah 550,- is what i expected. Shipping would make it higher for me. But was planning on going for a piggy bag first from HKS or Haltech. specially the last one being 2 would make it still worth will doing a flash true TS though......:glasses:

i mena custom by you will have to have one made for the fx/you will have to make it for the fx the 350z/g one wont fit its too small and has different mounting point

That would be worth the effort....time and money i gues. That is if i'm not breaking and mounts when going F/I.

Your at college.....can't some of your buddy's from the tech department draw something up ......i can make it CNC, that is the brackets, still......need a longer damper as well then :frown:

my college doesn't have a tech/auto department like that it's a private school known for it's business school which is why i am there. if you figure it out let me know i'll buy one form you haha because i'd love to have that because I know it helps, even on a stockish engine.

i need somebody to do a photoshop for me...because I can't/dont know how to do the different effects (metallic flakes, mirage/chameloen) for my plenum....
anyone care to help?

scroll up to my last ish post for the colors in mind....
heres a picture or two to work with
I was thinking gloss black for all the black plastic surrounding the engine bay, like the battery and brae fluid cover area.... and the intake plastic covers and such

as for the plenum i was thinking a glass color (black?), a metallic flake color(black with silver/gold/ flakes), or a mirage/chameleon color
and samco hoses so red or blue (since they are easier to get, may go different depending on the plenum color)

like I want the plenum to kid of have that titanium-coated look to it..... its kind of hard to explain. It looks kind of...rainbow?

rainbow titanium coating?

---------- Post added at 01:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:17 PM ----------

also im thinking of more engine components that can be seen as an engine dress-up but technically have a use...

examples:
aluminum power steering tank
http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo.asp?number=NRG-PST-100

oil cap: (obv looks only)
http://www.optionsauto.com/products.asp?dept=6310

samco hoses (function/look)
http://www.optionsauto.com/products.asp?dept=7534

also, do oil catch tanks and radiator breather tanks do anything? some 350zs guys have them but im convinced its jsut show..

http://mynismo.com/products/?id=2685
http://mynismo.com/products/?id=2677

alot of them have the arc oil catch:
http://mynismo.com/products/?id=5962

obviously for some of these different hoses (longer) will be needed...and its hard to see what they do since the english is all translated from Japanese and therefore sometimes makes no sense...

im not sure if any of them actually do anything but they would be fun little easy-ish DIYS to do.....and theyd look cool and hopefully function well

---------- Post added at 03:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:15 PM ----------

sooo anybody have any opinions

my opinion, I hope you don't make a big ass mess out of it

bro, all the plastics your planning to paint around the engine compartment are very difficult & need the right materials & methods to pull off without looking like some kid with too much time on his hands just grabbed a can of spraypaint & went off... especially if your talking gloss black???, & with how picky you are? I think your setting yourself up for disaster there...

the other stuff is fine, the plenum in my opinion if you go too funky there instead of getting this awesome look your picturing you might also wind up with that kid with a spraycan type look there too. I'd say stick to black or silver if you must do it...
