UPDATE: crawford High Flow Cats + Technosquare ECU reflash//tuning + comple GTspec
hey all,
After looking to see what possible modifications i could do next to my FX (see thread "deciding what to get next : ///7177"
I have decided that my next mods will be a set of
CRAWFORD HFC's (high flow cats) and a
ECU reflash and tune by Technosquare...I also purchased the final 3 parts to complete my full GTspec bracing system (STB, 2 rear braces)
the decision between the HFC and the new ypipe basically ended when Tadashi, the tuner at Technosquare, said that with ym current setup a set of HFC would be more more beneficial than a new Y-pipe. Of course, the new HFC were more expensive:err:not to mention the tune by Technosquare is also a nice chunk of change. also the gtspec were not cheap....
Part of the reason I jumped to get the tune done was because it would prevent me from being able to buy any more big performance parts for a while because if i did I would need to retune and therefore spend alot more money, so it was kind of an incentive to not buy as much stuff for the FX....I mean I am in school now so im trying to not break the bank haha. So even though the HFC, TUNe, and braces cost $$ it will end up saving me $$ in the long run....basically now all im doing is saving up (maybe for lightweight wheels in the future, maybe for FI, i don't know)
but yeah, HFC's will be in this week, the braces are sitting in my trunk, and the ECU is being sent out after averyhting else is installed...so probably within a month. after that, save save save, while enjoying a freshly tuned FX
pictures and updates will come as they occur
i'm excited for the hfc's and tune the most :tonguey:
p.s. and DIY for FX ecu removal? the site has the 350z removal but im not sure if it's the same......also i neede to find the instructions for the placement of the rear 2 GTspec bars so when I do it or have it done i know/they know what we are doing....
can't wait for it to all come together
and my new center caps should be coming in, and over one of my breaks I am getting ym tailights LIGHTLY tinted....Also may be getting some custom LED work to my headlights (no, not audi style LED strips, the iron-man headlight mod) so yeah....
and of course after the tune and HFC install there WILL be some video footage to see and hear the difference, plus i will bring you the reports from my very own butt dyno.....stay tuned

there were of course no videos anywhere ic ould find of an fx with a NISMO stune and high flow cats, so the closest thing i could find were 350z's with only the exhaust and HFCs.....the fx will sound a little different (deeper, mainly) but you get the idea of how nice it will sound....
so something like this
YouTube- 2007 350Z little burnout / exhaust test
or this (same z)
YouTube- 2007 350Z nismo exhaust w/ berk HFC's
of course there are a few variables that will make it sound different, that z is HR, it's a z so naturally sounds different, different legnth piping, etc. so basically take those exhaust vids and make it a little deeper sounding and that's most likely what it will sound like (plus i have the 5/16th spacer so that will help make it a little deeper)....no more bass, just deeper... of course the HFC in the vid are berks but you get the idea...
i'm excited
