Taking my 06 in tomorrow to have the dash replaced. I've noticed more and more bubbles develop over the last couple of months. My 96 months luckily expires in September.
No, fold out sunscreen that goes across the dash to block the front window.
My dash is all melted where it connects to the driver and passenger door when closed. When I open the door up there is melted dash on my door that I need to peel off. The dash in that spot looks like the chocolate melting off of a Reese's peanut butter cup

I have ceramic tint on all my windows including the windshield plus I leave up a sunscreen on my dash too. My car is parked in the sun all day everyday so I imagine it's all because of the heat and possibly humidity. Maybe something with the salt air like Viperi said but I live in the mountains and work by Pearl Harbor so there isn't much salt in the air in either place but it may be enough to have an effect. My best guess would be the constant temps in the 80s every single day of the year instead of cycling between summer and winter.
Hi all,
Will I be able to process this recall from Tanzania? Bought the car used from NJ. I know this is a long shot...
I can get the dash shipped at my cost though, if they honor the recall.
Thanks
No harm in trying, but if I was nissan, I would just say no under the pre-tense that you have taken the car to an extreme environment.
What do you mean by "extreme environment"?
The car is parked in a basement garage, drove on tarmac roads, and drinks only Super petrol (Octane 95).
Average temperature in Das-es-salaam is 26 degrees Celsius (79 degrees Fahrenheit)...
A friend of mine had some issues with his imported Evoque, needless to say, the Range-Rover dealer in Tanzania was able to fix the issue for free after some negotiations, of course. Too bad for me, the Nissan dealer down here won't come to my rescue.I don't doubt any of what you have said.
But I more meant as in you have taken the vehicle outside the market the engineers designed the vehicle to operate in, it's irrelevant to them what the conditions in that market really are, its only relevant what they could have been.
Is there any way to know if my dash had been recalled via the previous owner? Can I call up my infiniti dealer and ask for a maintenance record?
Nah, not temps, Im in FL and temps are same or higher. Had 3 FX35s and every one had the cracking or bubbling, but your melting is nutso. The melting has to be some sort of chemical reaction, from something in the air is my guess. I live on the gulf so salt is always in the air like you, but has to be something else. I have no idea why Im so intrigued by your dash lol so please keep the thread updated
You can probably just look at it. The replacement dashes are a different material. It's rougher and more matte than the original dash. I'm 4 years on the warrantied dash and no bubbles. The original one bubbled in 2 years.
