Bubbling Dash Warranty Extension (96 months / Unlimited miles)

So today I dropped my FX35 off at the dealer to get some service done. After I went through and told him everything else I needed to get done, he asked me if there was anything else that I needed? Then I brought up the bubbling dash issue without any expectation from him and told him, its gotten a little worse since last time I was in for service. He reached into his file cabinet and pulled out a paper that he said he literally just got yesterday from Infiniti. He even made me a copy for me to take home.

Basically Infiniti has decided "in the interest of customer satisfaction" they will implement a warranty extension and will honor and replace of defective dashes for no charge! Even if you paid for it, you will be eligible for reimbursement. The service advisor told me that Infiniti is working with a new manufacturer for the dashes. At the moment, they are most likely on backorder, but he said he would let me know of any updates tommorrow! He told me Infiniti was getting ready to send notices out to FX owners in the next few weeks, but I just wanted to give everyone a heads up here.

At the moment im not going to say which dealer and advisor told me this until he can confirm with me some more details. But I will definitely give him props for being very helpful and friendly with me ever since I bought my FX. I wonder why Infiniti chose to do this all of a sudden. Maybe all of the negative publicity that Toyota has been getting? Anyways, even though my dash defect is only minor compared to others Ive seen and read about, I'm totally happy that they will be taking care of us!

so far its only been happening on the first gen as they have been exposed to sun light longer than the 2nd gen.. but if i were you id keep a look out. I have an 08 (2 years old) and havnt seen any bubbles yet... so you should be good for awhile. Also maybe they changed the materials on the 2nd gen dash, which would avoid the problem alltogether

The service advisor just called me and told me the new dash is on order, but he has no idea when it's coming in. Also getting the annoying seat creak fixed with a whole new unit too.

I just called the local dealer here in the east bay area and the service department has just received that letter a few days ago saying that the warantee has been extended to 8yrs unlimited mileage. I just ordered mine, and I needed it bad. so with that said if you have problems, get in quick and get it done. I'm happy as hell.....good find/call Areobfa

that is the best news that i have heard in a long time. Im headed to the dealer tomorrow to get mine looked at. It wll my third dash in 4 years if it all works well

So that means i can call the dealer and order mine??
what do you mean with creak??

Yes or stop by the dealer in person and get it done and show them? There was a bulletin for '04-'05 years where the seat would be a creaking sound where they would have to replace the seat rails. You would also feel the seat move a bit when you brake or took a turn a little quicker. I took in months ago and they just lubricated it and it came back 15 min after getting the car done. But now, the tech was able to replicated my issues and they are replacing the whole seat rail/assembly.

IlovemyFX: Somebody post a copy of that letter.

I have a copy of the letter, but its at home at the moment. Its not an official letter or bulletin, its a notice really someone whipped up on MS Word to give dealers a heads up. I can post it later today when I get home.

Thanks for the info man. That will be some great help to everyone. Much appreciated. :.smile:
