BIG "A" DETAILING Shop Introduction & Pricing

Why is it that we have sooo much orange peel on the FX? The G's in your pics dont show that.
idk youd have to contact infiniti & ask them. the orange peel can be flattened out like a mirror with wetsanding. i have thought recently about making a menue for full orange peel removal & full car wetsanding, im not sure how that would work out though. getting the customer to leave the car here for a full week or so would not always be an esay thing. also, im not sure how many customers would be willing to pay the high prices for the service. ive seen a cali detail company on the internet that specialized in full car wetsanding. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I've done a few brand new cars full wetsand to glass, a ton of work & it could easily approach $1,000 worth of labor & more... another thing to realize is after this, minor scratches will accumulate easier & show more... nice for a show car, but with a street car a little peel is not so bad & can be a bit more durable than polishing to a glass finish... also it is much harder to repair a vehicle & match factory peel than it is to respray a car & then polish to glass... peel is a challenge but the best repair will try to match the peel rather than removing it...

i wish i could get $1000 for a full wetsand job. the last car i did a full wetsand on was this blue S2000 that i still havent put together a thread for. i whored that job our for just $400 to let everyone know that i do this kind of work. that was for sure the last full wetsand for $400 but hopefully not the last full wetsand job.
one of the shops i worked at asked me to try to mach the factory orange peel with the wetsanding of the fresh paint. i was pretty good at it but its a pain in the ass to get it perfectly even with the factory orange peel. you have to sand a lil, compound, polish examine the difference in the old & new paint, then repeat the same thing untill you think the new paint peel will blend in nicely with the factory peel. i shouldve said peel instead of orangepeel, it wouldve made my post a lil shorter lol.

it can help to feather blend in the peel too, wetsand the factory adjacent panels feathered out to blend in more... nothing looks worse than 2 adjacent panels with very differing peel even if the color match is perfect...

last car I did full was a brand new crimson red caddy sedan, charged the guy $800 & by the time I was done I still felt like it wasn't really worth it  once you get most of the peel gone then the areas that still have a little stick out like a sore thumb... very tedious work & very dangerous in the wrong hands too... many detailers are not good enough to really do this... your body shop background is a big plus over most detailers...

I figured it was a big job to do. How about those other rides you did. I doubt they were sanded, yet no peal.

all car companies have different levels of orange peel in factory paint jobs. some have less than others, some have orange peel thats really bad. there are a few car companies that wetsand the clear coat. i detailed a austin martin vantage with flawless, beautifull deep & wet clear coat. it was wetsanded from the factory.

$800 is a good price but it never will seem like enough money for a full car wetsand. customers have a hard time understanding the skill level & amount of time it takes to wetsand a car & present it to them with a flawless finish!
my body shop background does give me an edge on most every other detailer out there. i think its time to take advantage of it.

hey guys, since everyone across the forums we sponsor has given us a great response from the sale we ran this week, i decided to run it back again next week with a little more free work thrown in just for the hell of it. 1Z Glanz, Americana, full Rejex treatment & the extra service thrown in will be headlight restoration topped with Rejex & a final coat of beeswax!

this weeks sale 12|14 - 12|19

we got a really good response from members of all the forums we sponsor so i figured,
why not run the sale back this week with a little something extra to the deal.

here is the package:

coat of sealant - 1Z EINSZETTE GLANZ WAX bottom layer
coat of wax - ADAMS AMERICANA PASTE WAX top layer
free REJEX treatment on all glass, wheels, exhaust tips, head & tail lights
free interior vacuum, dash & center console wipe down & blow out the dust

+ to make the deal even better ill throw in a FREE HEADLIGHT WETSAND
improve your road vision by getting rid of the cloudyness you might have with your headlights

for everyone that comes in for this package.
this is a $75 service but ill give it you on the house!
ill coat the headlights with Rejex first then finish it off with
a layer of BEESWAX applied with my finger tips &
buffed evenly with no streaks with a microfiber towel.

ALL THIS FOR JUST $75

we usually charge + $20 for the full REJEX treatment
we usually charge + $25 for the ADAMS AMERICANA PASTE WAX
due to its high price tag per container

when combined with 1Z EINSZETT GLANZ WAX, ADAMS AMERICANA PASTEWAX
will produce the wettest & deepest look for your paint. with weekly or bi weekly hand washes, this package should last you through the entire winter season & till the beginning of spring.

this is a great deal for everyone just looking for some
winter paint protection for your car

send me a PM or CALL the shop to make an appointment

well if i like at 830 or 9 on the 20th, and need to be somewhere at 11, what can you do for me/how much are you charging
and for the 27th, i can always come the day before on the 26th

so we can probably do a "quick one" on the 20th and then like, a regular one on the 26th

sorry, i dont like when customers give me a time limit & ask "what can you do" i need to be somewhre by this time etc... can't work like that, i dont do "quick ones". sounds like your asking for just a hand wash bc thats all i will have time for given the amount of time you are leaving me to work on your FX. the 27th is a sunday, im closed on sundays. call me at the shop, i cant stay on the computer, i have a full paint restoration job on a range rover i need to get back on.
call me, lets talk.
thanks

wow that looks great as usual big A ! always enjoy lookin at the before and after pics in your threads lol
thanks man. i really broke my ass on this job. the customer is a shop regular, hes been comming to me for a few years. he always teases me about this one shop thats been around for a long time & is known for $700 details. i had a chip on my shoulder when i was doing this job. i wanted to shut his mouth in a friendly way with the outcome of the job & boy did i ever make him happy! he will no longer tease me even if it was in a friendly way. i reminded him that he just got a $700 detail for less than half of that. i charged him $275, couldve gotten alot more money for the job.
i think i need to be a better salesman because my work is just as good as anyone else out there that charges more than double for the same work that i do.
