BC coilovers

dont forget all sounds travel through ur chasis, u might think its the coilover but it might be the loose nut.
Couple months ago i tightened my top 17-19mm nut front left side coilover and plus adjusted the height, the car was on jack stands. After i put back the tire and went to work, i heard a bad clunking sound, almost every bump on the road made a clunking sound. i was frustrated, i checked the coilover and it was fine, then i checked my suspension if it was just another coincidence, and yes it was my top sway bar link bolt was loose, i shook it with my hand and it clunked. If you have ur car jacked up u wont notice the clunk. It needs to be on wheels to check

and for the dampening, adjust it 12 front and 10 rear and test drive it see if u like it. It will reduce the bump ride just a tad bit

Ok will try what you said tomorrow. Hopefully it goes away. As far as dampening don't the front have to be more then the rear is 2 clicks more enough.

i personally have 10 front and 4 rear and love it. Its your choice play with the settings and see which one u like the most

well 0 is the hardest you can go, if u dampened correctly then u have it on the softest setting over 15 is pretty much soft. You have to turn ur knob all the way to hard which is 0 then count the clicks, from there it will start to stiffen up

Replaced my sway bar links and my control arm on the rear drivers side still the noise is there. Does any one have That spacer for the coils. I heard they made the new ones with a spacer to prevent the noise

Anyone with these coilovers in the Northern states have their coilover rust ? my springs look rustier in 2 years than my 6+ year old OEM springs...for that matter the tein springs in my girls civic look like they came out of the box after 2 years of year round driving ....I am a little dissapointed

Yea my front passenger got seized got a replacement coming out to me. What you should do is clean them before winter hits and lube it up with anti sneeze

salt hurts. thats one reason i wont go co's. i cleaned my oem rear springs and they are rust free in mint condition :)

I get that I should have lubed up the threads but the rust on the springs themselves is crazy for the age of them Mississauga-20130812-00596_zps5aa78d7b.jpg Capture5_zpsb0ef0c3d.png

Your telling me, I am also surprised the rear spring buckets are not aluminum like on other Nissans. I am going to order new ones and powder coat or paint them

I bet they spray that brine poop on the roads where you live, it's 1000 times worst than salt! I use some stuff called Hilco lube and spray it under my rides, by far the best poop on the planet. While living in Florida a friend of mine owned a jet ski shop and turned me on to it. It's hard to find, and it's 15.00 for a spray can. I looked up the regional sales rep and bought six one gallon cand for little over a 100.00 still have a gallon left. Anyway this scares me about the BC's! I just got mine yesterday and havent had time to install them yet! I thought I researched the poop out of coilovers so I hope I don't have the same problems as many of you guy have!

What's up guys I just took of my bc coil over rear spring purge in order to lower the rear more. Anyone ever do this. What should I be worried about.

Are you referring to the threaded spring holders? I'm considering doing this too. From what I see on the G forums, no real downside. I suppose the spring could fall out, but if you adjust the shock to prevent the spring bucket from travelling that far, it won't happen. But it wouldn't be any different than normal lowering springs, they're just held in by tension too.

Yep, agree with shadow. Just shorten the shock by turning the body of the shock into the shock's lower cup enough to prevent ether spring from skiing off the spring bucket.

Isnt the shock body for dampening. So would it make a diff. I'm completely lost right now. Lock the way the rears are tucked in and sitting so low. Also now the rear pass side is making a loud banging sound and is so bouncy. What setting you guys recommend

If you shorten the shock body, it will limit how far the spring bucket can be extended. This will keep the spring tensioned and not fall out.
