BC Coilovers Info & Unboxing (03-08 FX35/FX45)

so 4k for the whole kit.. and one would be able to adjust the ride hight on the go... sounds good...

thanks Ray..

Rear Isn't an option as it is a ridged system. You need to hae Mc Pherson to get it done as the HLS swaps out the little tension spring on the coil. BC doesn't have that now....only one large spring but it is no problem for them to make i already asked. You just need to mention it when ordering.
But front is the main concern anyway.......with the bumpers some of us have and the underpan when driving so low........

4 G's for that, you could put airbags on it for less $$$

**Coils would ride better though**

Ohhhh buddy you were so close getting your tapped on the fingers.....it is that you corrected yourself after what i posted above

When wanting to have a good quality airride setup you'd easy be looking at 3-4 K as well IMO.
But indeed this set-up has better performance as Bags don't have that side-stabilisation that springs have ( again IMO ).....sold both.
Bags do look far more crzay when all dropped. But on the other side not that natural also anyone knows you gannot drive that height....... :err:

 I have had bags in the past, they defenatly dont ride sporty like coilovers but if someone was looking for adjustablity in the suspension it would be a cheaper option.

I had bags on my old truck (Mazda B2200) but took them out after it was bodydropped because they wouldnt lift high enough to clear the wheels...They were replaced by a 2 pump pro hopper set up. Both suspensions were less than 3 Gs the hydros were $ 900 + 3 deep cycle batteries

The kit you posted ray looks awsome and I would buy it right now if the $$$$ for it was not so high :frown:

PS..Those rims were cool when I was 17 (1997)

Anyone else having issues with height changing randomly? I never did anything to my rears, and yet the passenger is less than 1 finger height, but the driver side is about 2 fingers. They used to be both be really low. I feel like the spring doesn't seat well in the spring bucket or something and might be moving around.

It sucks because it's no longer easy for me to work on it without a garage.

I've been riding on the BC's for some time now. I've driving at different adjustment settings over this time. What im feeling is the springs are a bit mushy mainly at the rear. Let me explain, when driving down the highway and hitting a little dip in the road the car squats hard in the rear, fronts seem ok. You can feel the back end go way down and then up. Never felt this with stock, Eibach or H&R's. I tend to ride mostly at a few clicks from hard to try to control the squat but at higher speeds it doesn't help much. The FX does handle way better than all 3 springs in cornering. I like them highly for this. Perfect ride would be H&R spring ride with BC handling.

I know of another member that has mentioned to me he's feeling the same squat with the Megan's.

I think Beast45 told me the exact opposite, that he had the rear bounce with H&R's and the BC's got rid of it.

If this is an issue, would a stiffer spring rate solve this for the rears?

Flying down the freeway going 80mph at 4am and hit a dip in the road, bottomed out and felt like I was ready to lose traction on the way up is a concern for me. Never an issue with stock, Eibach or H&R's . If I have 1 adult sits in the back seat it drops down visually to were no other spring I have had on was so noticeable. If I click to all the way soft its a mushy ride all the way around...no stiffness to the ride. Id like to try a stiffer spring rate. Not sure the cost of just springs.

Honestly i don´t find it cheap as well, so that is my main issue with the system as well. Thing is there target clientel is high end consumers like porsche / ferrari and lambo drivers. First when they came out they just offered it for those cars. Didn't have a "universal" kit at all. I spoke with one of the engineers and he asked me what i thought of the kit. Only answer i gave him was:" great......but when are you going to produce it for the VW Golf "
We don't have excentric Exotic drivers here.......all about keeping/staying OEM.......boring..!! But he......that is why i had just as much attention last time in the city with my FX then the guy in front of me with his brand NEw white porsche 997 Turbo

Hmmm i'm trying to think wether it is a too soft spring rate or the rebound of your coil needs to be hardend more.
But when a spring rate is too hard.......it can push out the rear faster also.

I had client with 350Z mounted with KW talking about the rear being too bounshy in the beginning. Also with having not much weight in the rear.
But After a while the springs sat in and became softer and all was ok.

How many miles did you drive the BC kit already....??

it should be locked in place, are you sure its the coilovers moving? in 6 years of doing this i've never seen one go up and down...now on the megans since they do not have the locking collar...that is possible...
For whatever reason, the driver side rear raised up since install. I never touched the rears either. Unfortunately I don't have access to lifts and jacks anymore, which is why I had them set before I left for school. Or maybe it's possible that the passenger side just dropped lower for whatever reason. Everything should be tight though as I had a squeak and checked everything then.

there are not any issues :) on any mass production run there is always going to be one or two that pop up, and bc will fix it, if it is confirmed a bc problem :)

mr stulax-

spoke with bc racing response from owner
"I read it, but I'm not sure what is moving up on it? If he can't take his wheel out, how is anyone supposed to know what is wrong. Like you said, if it is a coilover issue then we can resolve it. we atleast need to look in there to see if anything visually looks wrong. He should atleast have a jack and wrench for a flat tire and every cell phone has a camera. Let me know then we can move forward"

i would get some proof etc before pointing fingers...

thanks again and we'll be waiting for you!

My first impression right after install was bouncy as seen in post 249 here-> ///158260&postcount=249

Over time and adjusting and re-ajusting has the same results. Not a BC issue just pointing out to others that are interested to think about what kind of ride they want. Maybe a stiffer spring rate since BC can ship with a stiffer spring rate or these may be just fine for them.
