BC Coilovers Info & Unboxing (03-08 FX35/FX45)

I think if I add spacers it'll start to rub... I really want a nice flush look so I think I may raise it. Not too sure yet. This low ass look is so awesome to me, and it BARELY rubs. I rubbed going 65 over a pretty steep incline and the sound was barely there, still rubbed, but hardly at all.. Htown is all about slammed rides 8)

Tru, Tru. We're pretty flat around here - highest point in the city is on a highway overpass somewhere...

I have 20mm spacers, so I couldn't drop quite so low. Still 1.5" lower than the Eibachs though. FWIW, if I had spacers to do over again I'd go 25mm.
 
I don't know about the rear yet, but I get some rubbing in the front while turning and hitting bumps. Nothing too bad though since it's all plastic up there.
 
Anyone else noticed a little creak from the rear? I can hear it while driving, but also when rocking the FX back and forth. It rained today and that's the first I've heard of it since washing the FX and being in the rain.

Well that noise is gone now after I tightened everything down on that side I could find. Now I have some noise on the other side that's related to the wheel speed. It honestly sounds like some dude is sitting in the back speed whacking it, and speeds up as I do. Kinda like a slop slop slop slop.
 
I know I'm probably going to need a camber kit in the rear, anyone know of a good set to buy??

No camber kit that I am aware of but I have a shop that is working on a G35/G37 camber bolt-camber washer (is it called a washer or plate?) swap that should provide quite a bit more adjustability. Once it is all installed and I know that it works as planned I'll post the exact specs on the parts.

Or just slot the rear sub-frame I believe.
 
viet at one time had a list of a few different bolt setups that would need to be ordered & then using part of one & part of another make something work, I winded up buying all these bolts & then some, but in the end I haven't used them yet as my adjustments fell right at the limits... I think that slotting the sub frame would accomplish the same thing really but if it's confirmed as to what to buy & that it will def do the job probably not a bad idea either. I remember spending a few hundred on bolts & kits when I ordered my stuff, but there were some fronts thrown into the mix too, I never advised much with this cause I never actually confirmed what worked with what, but slotting will def work no matter what....
 
no, haven't needed to do it, but should be really straight forward... the lower arms will need to be pulled in a bit so the slots for the spring bucket arm would need to be opened up a bit towards the inside, then gotta see how the toe one needs to be slotted, don't remember if that one needs to be slotted in or out, probably towards the inside too, but the sub frame is aluminum so shouldn't be too hard to extend the slots a bit. a die grinder would be perfect but even a drill bit side loaded should work, even a file would work too. I'm curious to see how lance makes out with his because the right offset bolts would probably be the easiest thing to do if you can get what you need... I may have everything needed for these sitting in my garage honestly, but since I never did it I'm not sure enough to advise exactly what to get or what will & will not work... viet had a post about this a while back, I'll see if I can find it...

seems he started out trying to machine suff to work but by post 51 found off the shelf kits to put this together I think? also, looking at his pictures reminds me that for slotting you may need to flatten the little raised step that the washer leverages against for adjustment... still not a big deal to do really...

Still waiting for my shop to respond regarding the camber bolt swap. These guys have been amazing so far so I challenged them to look into the JWT cams. I think they have reached a level of perfection paralysis, that or they are afraid to deliver bad news, that the cams are a bitch to do on a 45 (basically what Ed found out). I am going to call today and do some cage rattling (separate event from cage fighting).

And yeah......BC's are the goods.
 
I'd be afraid to let someone tackle a cam swap unless they have definite experience with these engines already, last thing you want to do is finance there education if you know what I mean :)
