09 FX35
Hey, guys. I was getting my Ark exhaust installed at the Austin Z clinic. I asked the owner if he knew anyone who could help develop a solution to the toe and camber issues that 2nd gens have been having and he directed me to Sean at SPL Parts. They make custom performance automotive suspension parts for Zs, GTRs, and more. I spoke to Sean and he's willing to research and develop one for us. He was even aware of the SPC attempt that failed. The cost is roughly about $800 per control arm for R&D, but production will most likely be cheaper. I plan to use my 09 RWD FX35 as the test car. What do you guys think? I'm totally committed to getting this done. He wants to know what the interest level is though before he begins. Please spread the word. This could be the answer we've been looking for! I will direct him to this post as well, so that he could chime in with details. In the meanwhile, check out their page.

As someone who just purchased a new set of BCs, count me in!

Awesome! Please vote as well. I think there's more demand now for this than before and this company makes exceptional quality parts too.

My rear was out more than the front.

Mine with eibach front is out more n after fixing the SPC rear was ok but still with the front
Now my car is at the shop to install the BCs, ll c how it ll turn out after although I told them to have same drop as the Eibach..

The front was worse on mine on both H&R springs and coilovers.

You never did say what your alignment specs were after you installed your H&R's Rip, or were they misplaced ?

It's been so long that I misplaced the results

Today installed the BC coilovers, alignment shows -2 for front n rear with SPC old generation modification, I think in deed we need this control arm for both front n rear if we are gona go for coilovers, BTW hate how is car ride with coilovers, i think I ll be the first to say that[emoji1][emoji16]

I can relay that to Sean and see what he says. I was under the impression that it was the rear issues that were worse. Anything can be done for a price. However, more people need to chime in and show interest to get this off the ground. Please continue to spread the word regardless. I want us to actually solve our lowering problems sooner rather than later. I'm so committed to this that I'll even still push through with getting a one-off if there's not enough interest to mass produce. lol BTW, the bushing on my rear differential is busted and some sort of oil was leaking from it; I found out when I has having my Ark exhaust installed. I actually bought 350z rear differential bushings components from SPL parts and plan to have those installed sometime next week. I'll let you know in a separate thread.

You hate how the car rides with coilovers? I'm assuming that you're being sarcastic. I hope you're being sarcastic. Are you being sarcastic? lol

What's the SPC modification that you did???

Am serious but it might need some damper adjustment, ll judge it after some time n some tunning[emoji16]
SPC rear camper kit for old generation that was installed on Rip's car ( mainly for liwerd springs not for coilovers)
My damper sitting now is 5 out of 30 front
N 15 in the rear

So the ride is too stiff? I bet it handles like a mofo, though. Try making some small adjustments to get some of that softness back.

How far did you lower it with the BCs?

^Wow, sucks to see that you hate how your car handles. What rates are you getting and are you having your preload set correctly? My car was the first to have BC coils (Their prototype) and it handles awesome with some camber, really hugs the corners and a bit more sporty than stock but still comfortable?

Back to topic, yes, this brings back memories. I was in discussion with SPC and there were no interesting in R&D for the kit (ARM) reason being there's no poin in sale. And I can see why. There's only a handful of people wanting to modify their 2nd gen FX on stateside so the ball was dropped.

Glad to see that SPL willing to pick it back up. They make great parts. I ran SPL products on my previous rides and absolutely love them. Built with quality in mind. Personally, I was working on custom make a set of rear arms for my project, would love to see what Sean from SPL has in mind. Hopefully it can be something feasible and ready for this year SEMA.

Salem, you didn't answer what the problem was with how your FX is handling. Stiffness, cornering, something else?

Man Salem, that's totally weird you say that about the BC's. The ride on coilovers is awesome, way better than springs. I can never go back to springs after being on coils. You def need to adjust your settings to your like liking.

He checked it again, and everything is ok, told him to raise the car to the max to try it, n in way back still hate how it is ride !!! On bumby road, car flexing right n left, either they did not installed it right or they changed the spring compression rate or somthing I dont know about..... I dont know..

On bumby road felt car is not hold together,
Flexing right n left, on turning cars feel heavy n response feels slow , used to take highway exist on higher speed, i have to slow much less to keep the car holding together. However ll give some time n some more tuning trial, ll try another shop in different country if did not work fine in a week [emoji16]

That's strange. It shouldn't be flexing like that. Have you asked other members what coilover settings that are using? Find out so that you can configure yours identically.
