What a feaking morning. Air fitting broke and stuck on the side of the road.

Wake up, pump gas, and its a good morning.
A few miles from work one of my air fittings broke and dumped my right rear wheel. I had to cut over 5 lanes throwing white smoke because that corner was slammed all the way.
No jack, no tools, no parts, and i was stuck. not even sure if i can fit on a flatbed.
Anyways, i tried 3-Wheeling it to work but the car was too heavy. i did lift that corner just high enough to get off the freeway and drive at work at 15MPH.
Its an easy fix, just glad i made it to work.

Damn, that sucks. I never would have thought of that as a potential consequence of air ride. Is there any way to adjust the system so that "slammed" is still drivable?

The only way to do that would be to get air bag brackets or shock length to be just long enough to have the tire sit about half an inch away from the inner wheel well.
That way even if the bag popped you'd be able to roll but not very fast.
I would do that but i wanna be as low as possible. Paid the price today.

It even can happen on some cars w/ factory air suspension. My uncle in Taiwan had a Jaguar XJ and one day his air suspension broke and his car bottomed out. Had to call the tow truck and it was scraping the whole time they dragged it up. Also, I believe that Mercedes w/ the Airmatics will strand you if the whole system goes out.

Yup, ever see one of those old ladies in an old Mercury or Lincon Continental driving around with the rear slammed? It isn't a lowride, its just broken.

Good timing man. I was only on the side of the road for about 10 minutes before i gave up and started driving.

That is something that you don't see every day in New England, a slammed fx sorry about the fitting, easy fix.

I used the plastic fitting because that was the only elbow fitting i had when i bagged my car last week. I knew plastic fittings tend to leak but i didn't know they fell apart like that.
Anyways I'm taking the bag home to fix so i can come back to work and drive the car home.

New air fitting... should have never used the plastic. I was just in a hurry to get my car off jack stands.

If its not one thing its another. When i had my car in the shop getting a new Axle put on they snapped 2 studs but replaced it for me and put on factory lug nuts. I went to take the lugs nuts off to put wheel locks on at home and my socked got stuck in the wheel. I tried loosening it and when i realized that it was getting stuck i stopped. Spend over an hour trying to get it off with no luck. Any ideas guys?
tried the breaker bar, hammer, and heat... no luck so far.

How did you get it in there? Heat would be my first line of action. Heat both and just before you pull the socket, cool it (just the socket) with water.
