So I got my tints done before work and I ended up with just fronts and left the rears alone. The tint guy recommend that he do the fronts first so I can check it out before deciding the hatch and one look at the fronts and I said no thanks. It wasn't because of bad workmanship it was because of the tint percentage. 35% was too light for my taste, 20% would be perfect but the tint guy wanted cash on the spot which I was short $20 and no atm nearby.

Well I have light interior. I just added 20% on my two Front windows. Im thinking of tinting my windshield or adding another layer of tint to the front windows!!! If u have Dark interior 20% should be fine.
my fx is black on black, i did the 2 front windows %20 and the windshield is %50, its dark enough to get noticed by cops which ive gotten a couple tickets, but honestly in the day it doesnt seem that dark to me, i think people can tell somebody is in the car but wont b able to describe them, at night its probably a lil darker but the interior illumination lightens them up in my opinion, i never touched the hatch and i can see in the car pretty well from the back, but i think its all about the angle from where your looking at the car as well as lighting

Uhm , right.... If you didn't get a ticket yet, good for you but I assure you , an EMS decal on your car would not stop cops from giving you one.

This works. A buddy of mine had one when we were in college and he'd be able to cut the line or no cover all the time at bars and clubs and not get bothered by cops. A stethoscope on the front passenger chair or a Dr's lab coat slung on the seat works just as well

made an appointment to get my ride tinted on saturday. I wanna even it all around with 15%. would adding 35% to the rears make it close to 15%?
the guy said he'll put a test piece on the rear and use a meter to measure the %. will take before and after pics on sat.

Adding 35% on top of factory 20% will be .35 * .20 = .07 = 7%. Meaning they'll look darker.
Sometimes these calculations don't work as tints aren't always on point to the %. But a better idea might be 50% which would bring you down to 10% on the rears.
I have 20% all around and it doesn't look overly mismatched from neither inside nor out.

forgot to update this thread lol. got my tint done awhile ago. the shop put the meter on and the rears are really 14% so i just put 15% on the front windows to match it. I just made another appt to get the front windshield tinted next saturday. thinking about 50% windshield, anyone with pics or videos?

You'll need to do the front lip as well. You should just do both at the same time.

Ummm lips, lol! I have to admit when I first saw the second gens I didn't like them, then I saw them with the lip kit and changed my mind about them. They look good with them!

I have the Graphite Shadow (KAD). they dont make the lip in this color yet, unless u got yours repainted?. I will be getting 50% windshield. i already have 15% all around45% windshield with 18% fronts. Same color too ;-) Do eeeeet!
