The Random Question Thread

What do you guys plug into for power for your aftermarket electronics (example: MX20 module from KPTechnologies, amps, etc.)? Directly on the positive post of your battery or..?

Something with a fuse is best right? Electronics are not my forte, but I think I've seen wires with a built in fuse coming from the battery.

Yes I sent him a PM a while back but noticed he logged on yesterday but didn't reply. Maybe he missed it....

I ran my car hard after a photoshoot and smelt a slight burn at a traffic light.
Pulled over to a gas station and saw a second of light smoke and it was gone.
Checked under the car today because I saw a small pool of oil the size of a half dollar
Took pics with my DSLR, so it will be easier for you guys to try and assist me with this..

I think it may be the oil cooler gasket, but would that cause oil to spray back there??

Filter or gasket issue seems likely, maybe a high pressure failure while you were getting on it and that's why it's not an issue all the time. Do you replace the crush washer on the oil pan drain bolt?

Sure did, I have about a 20 pack from eBay that I've been using... But this is the first time I've used a FRAM ultra filter rather than my normal Bosch premium

I'm going to spray GUNK engine degreaser all under then rinse it off and see what happens after driving around once it's dry

Don't use FRAM oil filter. Somebody posted on Youtube that he had a FRAM oil filter failure. When he opened the filter, the "fins" actually broke from the joints causing zero filtration at all. There was also another independent video where a guy opened Bosch, FRAM, K&N, and a couple other brands and pointed out that the fins of FRAM filter are not made of sturdy materials. The best of the sample filters he did was K&N. Those videos are on my favorite I think on my home computer. I'll post it when I find it.

When my oil cooler o ring leaked you could see oil dripping on the lower hose on the oil cooler housing.

One of those Fram oil filter failures.
