This one is for Alan..... This is a video of his stroked VQ35 as we are building it. It is a VQ35 block with Darton 100mm sleeves. We are using a one-of-a-kind 87.4mm Cosworth crank and custom Cosworth rods with custom 100mm CP Pistons. We sent the block to Cosworth and they machined the crank to fit our block and their coated race bearings. Afterwards, the crank was hardened. The result is a PERFECT fit! The rotating assembly spins "LIKE BUTTA BABY"!........ Also, we machined the Darton sleeve to fit the CP Pistons PERFECTLY! The result is a one-off 4.1L Cosworth race engine. We are also running complete Cosworth ported heads with their cams, springs, and 1mm oversized valves... Enjoy! — at Fever Racing (formerly Z-Fever).

Take a good look at how smooth the counter weights are on the Cosworth crank. This is a one-of-a-kind crank. No one else in the world has one!

A good look at the 100mm Darton sleeves. After installing them we had them machined to fit the 100mm CP pistons perfectly!

The rotating assembly is perfect! I added a video of the crank rotating in the block. It was machined to fit the block and bearings PERFECTLY when the main girdle was torqued.

Look how easy it is to install racing pistons when you have the right tools...... The conical shaped, exact fit ring compressor (ours is from Wiseco) makes the job soooo easy! — at Fever Racing (formerly Z-Fever).Fever Racing (formerly Z-Fever)Tags: Fever Racing (formerly Z-Fever)

this shows the piston on the right is how we got them from CP and the one on the left is "After" we machined it to clear the oil squirters. All 6 assemblies weigh exactly the same. — at Fever Racing (formerly Z-Fever).

These are 100mm forged pistons we had custom made for us by CP Pistons. CP does a great job normally but even they make mistakes. We sent them the Cosworth 87.4mm stroked crank, Cosworth custom rods, and asked them to make the 100mm pistons for a VQ35DE engine. When we installed them we found that the lower edge of the skirt hit the oil squirters... They recommended caping off the squirters, we had to machine the skirts. While we were at it, we fully balanced the piston/rod assemblies to a .001 gram tolerance

if CP made a "mistake" then shouldn't it replaced the pistons rather than the shop decided to hack them to get the right clearance? bye bye warranty but then again most parts on this build is probably way out of manufacturer warranty by now...

i think warranty is the least of his worries...

i wasn't referring to the infiniti factory warranty:wink: aftermarket parts like turbos, pistons, springs and CAMs got to have a little warranty too, right? because things don't always seem to work on first try. lol....

Maybe miscommunication? Happens when custom parts get made. More than likely, CP gave them options and machining the pistons at the shop was quicker than having CP fix it. Also, usually the company will credit back some costs if they have decent customer service.
