Don't you all think Ed's 24" iForged wheel should pretty look good on an black FX for now? Just kid ya Ed.

Decided to order another set of tires and just return the set I don't use.

Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico
Size: 285/35ZR24
Sidewall Style: Blackwall
Serv. Desc: 108W
Load Range: XL
UTQG: 420 AA A
Overall diameter: 31.9" (OEM is around 30.4", so 1.5" taller, or .75" radius-wise)
Sidewall: ~3.92"

To give an idea, my 265/40/22 had 4.17" of side wall, so this really isn't that much smaller because the tire is much taller.

I am crossing my fingers it clears the suspension, the front strut spring and that metal seat where the spring sits is so big.

I know if I had coil overs it would 100% fit, since the coil over is very skinny.

Anyone know if this tire will clear the front strut? Rears are fine for sure.

I know Andy runs 285/40/22, which is about ~30.9" tall, so 285/35/22 is 1 inch taller or .5" radius wise, so I think I'm good.

This has become a longer project than I thought. It'll be winter soon...

wow, from my calculations from when I modded the front strut & calculating clearances there I'd say that your going to be right at, or just before the point of touching... my measurements say that I could go exactly 3/4" down, which equates to the same thing as a 1.5" increase in diameter with a stock strut which is exactly what your talking about... you should be right there man, gonna be close... may come down to offset determining how much it get's pushed out... only problem is I don't remember if the 3/4" spec I came up with was based off of the stock size tire or my smaller diameter 22's, can't remember for sure but I think that was based on the stock sized tires, hopefully :) ....

And what don't you know... guess that's why you have your own corner on IS=).

My wheels has 5mm less inner clearance and the outer position is pushed 45mm farther than stock. As aggressive as you can get.

Well, tires are en route and I always like to see how close calculations get. I "eye balled" it and was thinking just under an inch of clearance with my 265/40/22's so that 3/4" sounds spot on.

Well so far so good, let's hope the tire is just perfect fitment.

Thanks John.

I just put 4 new tires on my other car & i wanted to add a bit more meat because the 19's had a pretty low profile, winded up with another case of order what you think will work at max & then keep your fingers crossed :) well I got a little overboard & the new tires winded up rubbing the upper ball joint stud, had to shave a few mm from there & then it cleared... still have a slight rub to the fender liners at turning but not too bad & something I should be able to solve if I ever get the chance too, but in your case even a little rub to the strut & there's really nothing you can do at that point short of coilovers... good luck with it bro.

I do think 24's will look much better on an fx with a taller tire, maximum stuffed wheel wells & less of that rubber band tire look, should look great as long as it fits...

Car is back in shop, but was able to take some measurements prior to dropping it off.

Current tire is 265/50/20 Hankook i*Pike RW11 at 30.5" diameter.

I have 1" clearance to the black plastic wheel well in the front and rear to avoid plastic rubbing.

.9055" clearance to bottom of strut.

Pirelli's are 31.9" diameter, so 1.5" taller overall and .75" radius-wise as I mentioned before.

This gives me a little bit more faith the tire will work and not have to go coilovers.

Interesting enough, 285/35/22 and 285/35/24 (ratio-wise) both have exactly 3.92" of side wall -- given the number of people who ride 285/35/22 -- I should be fine if it fits.

Long journey, hopefully I will find out soon enough.
