Hey there Henry, I'm not back yet, we will be here at our winter paradise for 1 1/2 more weeks. We are still snorkelling and enjoying the sun with our amigos.

You can still see the love you have for your car Dave, you use it to test her extremes and she always looks fantastic, I envy you.
 
Such pampering there Wayne. [emoji106][emoji106] You even placed cardboard to separate contact with concrete.

Actually a very good idea since prolong contact with concrete on tires will degrade the rubber. That's what happens to our barely used company vehicle. When we took it out after a few months of inactivity, it feels like driving with a square tires.

When I store my ride Oscar, I have 1/2" plywood under each wheel and a sheet of 1/4" plywood under the chassis on the concrete floor. They are just pieces I had sitting around.
 
Concrete is notorious for amplifying transfer of either heat or cold. A tire sitting on bare concrete for extended period of time may develop tire rot. Insulating it with a board, plywood or a good non conducting material will serve as a barrier of the heat/cold transfer. I learned that the hard way when I had a good spare tire with about 70% thread life on it developed tire rot when I left it unprotected lying in bare concrete for several months.
 
Wayne I wish I had a garage like you so that my fx could be warm in the winter.
 
Time to get my FX out of the garage. I took off the Covercraft car cover and I unhooked my Battery Maintainer from the battery which has been hooked up for 4 months. Hopped in the car and hit the start button and presto she started right away, perfect especially since it had not run in 4 months. After letting it warm up for a few minutes I noticed the Service Engine light was on, so I thought, oh, it must be my gas cap so I retightened it. Then I backed out of the driveway to take it for a spin. Shit the car would only do a couple miles an hour and would not rev up, dam it must be in a limp mode :disapointed: I drove back home and put her in the garage. I restarted it and the same. So then I disconnected the negative terminal of the battery and left it unhooked for 15 minutes. I then reconnected it and BINGO, no more light and it would rev up. Took it for a 5 mile drive and everything was perfect, I missed that V8 rumble through my Borla catback system. So nice to get her out again.

Thanks, but not so clean now, we went for a nice back road drive all afternoon. Running good. I wonder what caused the limp mode earlier, something to do with sitting for 4 months, but it's fine now after I reset it..

It couda been caused by moisture on the sensors. Moisture acumulates in little places when the cars sit for awhile. Once you warmed it up it might've gotten rid of it.

The thing is that the problem persisted even after I let it warm up well and then I let it sit for an hour and restarted it and the problem still persisted.
Only when I disconnected the negative terminal for 15 minutes then hooked it up again did it cure my problem.
 
Possibly due to the fact that the light was caused by something specific to triggering limp mode & when you disconected it it reset itself.
