Finally met!

Thanks for the warm welcome on my first meet and greet. WOW I got alot of insights and how to's, I can't even wrap my head around it all. Thank you again Andy for the hospitality. Need to earn my IS sticker.:smug:

Plx is same place as Andy's.

Had another meet today, Andy was nice enough to have a mini meet at my house to trouble shoot my Plx gauge -- the center display wasn't working and after ripping apart the car again (well the center console) we found out from testing the wire that the plug harness, Plx forgot to strip the wire so there was no power (8V) going to the display!

What a relief we though the gauge was bad or the hard wiring got messed up somehow.

But of course handy Andy figured it out.

Black wire bottom left is 8v for digital display and black with white strip is 3.3v for LEDs as a FYI.

Andy, When you do your oil change I would be interested in getting a little tutorial. I saw Costco had decent pricing on Mobile One synthetic so I may jump on that.

I plan to do my oil, transfer case and the differentials in two weeks (12/17).
 
Dammit! I'm pretty sure I won't be in town.... Andy, you need to setup Handy Andy video streaming for all us folks not near you! ;) You'd get people messaging back on additional tips plus people like myself learning stuff! :)
 
1) Post instructional videos to youtube.
2) Monetize.
3) Profit!

Wait, did Andy or I post any pictures of where Andy installed the PLX gauge?

Where he put it is really sweet, using a single gauge holder and mounted it to the cluster. Really non-obtrusive and looks good.

No, just a matter of playing with the wire a bit and once it conform to the shape of the back of the cluster, the squeak went away. I don't hear that from mine anymore.
 
No install meet, just me with my newly powder coated OEM wheel with the Dunlop GrandTrack SJ5 winter tires. The weather is so crazily warm in the middle of December that I had the chance to wash my car last night after the install. I went out and took some pictures.
