wood door trim crack/peel

I wonder why I didn't receive this letter? I have the maple wood trim from the deluxe touring package. Oh well lol my maple wood trim is good. Mine is not peeling or cracking either, and I hope it doesn't.

But what the hell so their saying they will replace the real wood trim that came with the
car with fake simulated wood instead? That's unacceptable!

Yeah I was a bit surprised about the letter, but hey it's good to know Infiniti cares! :)

Maybe you will get yours soon? Who knows, but at least you know now that if you have this problem even after warranty, you should be good. Print this out and bring it to the dealer lol

If this does happen I'll make them replace the whole door panel with the wood. I think it's unacceptable to have them replace the real wood trim that came with the car with their so called simulated wood trim.

Is yours peeling or cracking?

I did go to some Nissan website about 2 months ago inquiring about any TSB and signed up if anything did come about to contact me, so maybe that's why. It was this, but maybe just coincidence

Wow that sucks brother. Have the dealer replace it for you.

I agree with you on that. I love the Maple and have always hated fake wood. I would rather have the black plastic if I had no other choice.

This is the original

and this is the simulated wood trim = it is made of plastic 100%

Yesterday was very hot here in PR. Now I just noticed wood trim peel on passenger side (front and back door). Called immediately to dealer for a date for replacement. :-(

UPDATE: Went today to dealer, had parts and replaced same day. Lucky, ha!!!

My '09 has 15k on it and just noticed that the passenger side wood panel is pealing. What gives?

How long did the replacement take for everyone? They'll switch it with the same oem panel correct?

The adhesive they use for the wood veneer doesn't hold up well which leads to the peeling in the first place. It will be replaced for free under warranty with OEM parts so don't worry. Only problem is that in order to fix the cause of this issue in the first place, the dealership will replace the REAL maple wood that came with the car originally with this so called "simulated wood". It will no longer be real, but it holds up better.

I'm at 39K miles and mine hasn't peeled yet (knock on wood) lmfao no pun intended hahahaha

^ When they get the replacements, they get a set of 4....dealer is supposed to replace all 4 since it comes as a package of 4 and specifically to prevent further trips to dealership since it is a recall. I would question what the dealer did with the other pieces then.

they replaced my wood trim, but the chrome outline trim that goes underneath the wood panel was damage from the wood pealing. Dealer did not replace it. I had to take the car back for them to look at it again. crossing my fingers & I hope they fix it.
