Aftermarket radio install project underway.

Yes, just follow the cable, you'll find that 16 pin connector
I just tried to find that 16pin connector and could not find it. It is not in the area where the radio is. The 16pin connector that is there does not have the correct color wires on it. The only area think it could be is wherethe steering wheel column is.

Its there, sorry hard to explain(I've been looking myself for a month)I'll try to take some pics for you next week.

It worked!!!!!!!! Thanks for taking the time to take your dash apart to show me the cable. I even looked at that connector but not close enough. Everything works now. Thanks for your help.

I am in process of installing an aftermarket Alpine Stereo on my 05 FX35 and adding also an AXXESS ASWC-1 steering wheel control adapter. Does anybody here know where in the stock FX35 16-PIN connector I can tap/connect the Gray/Red and White/Green wires from the ASWC-1? Or If I am wrong with the wiring color what is the correct color of the AXXESS ASWC-1 that I need to connect/tap to the stock FX35 wiring harness. Thanks in advance for all you help guys!!

20161123_173603_Burst03.jpg The website( www. axxessinterfaces.com) for Metra AXXESS ASWC-1 instructions for 2005 FX35 doesn't exist even their tech support has no clue which pin in 16 pin connector and what color in the stock harness I can tap the Gray/Red and White/Green wires from the AXXESS ASWC-1. Does any body here from 1st gen FX35/45 knows or done upgrading their stock with after market stereo? Video on 04/05 Nissan Maxima or 05 Nissan Quest in YouTube is not the same PIN and wire color with my 05 FX35.... See 16-pin(10 pin at the top and 6 pin at the bottom) picture here of my vehicle.

I think you need the 16-pin connector that is located on back of display plastic trim peice(the part with all the radio and climate control buttons). I got mine connected there, I think.

Zebra555, That is the 16 pin I have at the back of my stereo console (it includes XM satellite, stereo, HVAC, cassette, screen) I pulled the whole console and that's the only 16 pin I found. From the bottom row are the 2 connectors for the XM satellite and that 16 pin picture above, the second row is the 2 connector for stereo connectors for power, dimmer, power antenna, speakers, the 3rd row is the 2 connectors for the HVAC and the last row at the top is for the screen connector. Is that where I connect the wires from aftermarket METRA ASWC-1 steering wheel control adapter? I will look again this afternoon if it is a 16-pin. Why is the steering wheel control wires connected on the screen connector? It puzzles me. I appreciate and Thanks for all your time helping me.

Still could not find the 16 Pin connector. I searched thoroughly and found 1 white 16-pin(photo above) and another 1 gray 16-pin connector but colors doesn't match with what others mentioned on the forums. I will probably just return the Axxess ASWC-1 that I bought from Crutchfield. I don't want to do some trial and error tapping wires because it might fry some modules in there. Anybody that can help me with pictures or direction to hook up my Axxess ASWC-1 steering wheel control adapter is highly appreciated.
