I installed DDM tuning 6000K D2S bulbs and HID into my 2010 FX35 headlights and fog last weekend. Everything went very smooth, I am happy with the lights output and color match. It took me about an hour to do the fog light as I removed about 10 (10mm) bolts and 6 clips at the bottom front of the SUV and drop the plastic cover and slide my hand up to reach the fog light housing from the bottom, and unplug the OEM connector and bulb and screw in the H8 HID bulb, plug the HID kit into the OEM harness, used double sided tape to secure the ballast to the bumper... I just want to share my experience as this is another way to change the fog light into HID without remove a lot of body modding at all....

I did similar thing, but I don't know if all the bruises on my right arm were worth it , maybe should have removed all the panels as per guide. On the other hand, I am paranoid about not being able to put all those clips and panels back in the same order. :tongue (2):

I ended up taking 2 10mm bolts out from the underneath on each side, 6 screws on each side (3 extra because of the front lip), and pulled the fender flair back so 3 red clips only popped out. I popped the splash shield back a bit and stuffed something about 6 inches to keep the gap open so I could have room to work with so I wasn't scratching my arms. Very happy with them. I'm just thinking of getting a 6k set for the headlights now because the fogs are brighter...

In Canada the fogs are your Day Time Running lights. People compliment me all the time. I was even flagged down by a police officer a few weeks back cuz they wanted to tell me how nice they thought the lights were. Good thing my windows were down ;)

Too bad it's not standard here in the U.S:tdown:. I love having the fogs on only during the daytime. It looks really nice:biggrin:

"PULL OVER PULL OVER !"
"Yes Officer ?"

Hi,

As i followed the tutorial last night i encounter one situation that didn't let me finish my goal.

For some reason i think i blew the fog light fuse because in one point none of the fog lights were turning on.

Everything happened once i try to test one side of the hids.

I found out that the fog fuse is behind the battery. However, how do you take out that damm cover? Can i just moved the battery one side without disconnecting it?

Could it be just the fuse?

I didnt do nothing else beside that.. and all the lights are still working including the license plate ones..

Any input ill really appreciated.

thanks

Try to plug in old bulb back to the socket and restart the car and turn on the fogs.

Does it work with old bulbs?

If works, then just find problem in connection with the ballasts.

It is very hard to blow the fuse ;-) So i am very skeptical it is due to the fuse. :wink (2):

I did, tried every single posibility to make those fogs work.

Note: for some reason i did notice that the oem plug was like crying form the cables?
it was wet for some reason, the entire bay was dry..

At this point im still aiming is the fuse, i just dont want to take it to the dealer just because of that..

Any other input?

Please?
por favor?
M cou?

Then it is fuse for sure. I mean i hope so. If you fried wiring it sucks :-( but least likely.
Don't take to dealer with your HID installation attempt. Plug in everythign stock and make sure they can't trace you messing up with FX.
Wiring always wet for a few days after rain for some reason ;-) in my FX as well.
If you have Nav and parkign sensors,i don't recommend you HIDs ,they will make parking sesnors flash like a christmas tree in rain or when car is wet, till it is comepletely dry outside. HIDs not friends with sensors.

As for now. Look up in manual how to get access to fog lights fuse. Are you sure it is not in driver's side foot location?

Box is located behind the dam battery.. I didnt know if i needed to remove the battery si i could take out the cover. The dam cover tells u where the fuse is exactly located arrgggg.

it was already 12 midnight when i just left the car like that..
put everything back together and called it..
the dam fender molding was a b.. to take out without braking a tap having just a screw driver. Not a single scratch on the paint =-)

Yes the car have nav and parking sensors..
I just feel bad and need to fix this asap for my sister jejejeje

I really dont think i fried the harness because then the other harness would be fried and i really dont think so.

I have never had a problem installing hids only this time working on my sis. car..

Any other input?

Oh. Yeah i just took a look at my FX. I guess time for you to remove battery. It will take some time. Location is f.... stupid !!!

i took the gad damm plastic covers on top of the fuse box..
After that i was like damm the battery too?? wth?

Soo yeah thats the last resource right?

Unfortunately this is the way to go. I hope after replacing fuse it fixes the issues.

If not...Put all back stock and especially fog lights. Remove your HID ballasts and etc.
And bring to dealer and say "WTF!!! Why my fogs died so fast?" "I need an explanation" and laught :tonguey:

The dealer said the 2nd gens have a black box that records everything that is done to the car. They even knew when I disconnect my headlights to install the 6000K Morimoto bulbs. Don't know how though, and even if their telling the truth but it may be something worth asking.

Hahahaha. My dealer told me same ! It is a B.S. imo. Yes it records some data, but not so detailed like disconnected battery and etc. :smug:

WTH?
Shitt i did changed the headlight bulbs thou..
but i never disconnect the battery hahaha

mmm
I dont think theres a way to record if u change the fogs bulbs?

Not sure if its the same in the 2nd gens but 55W's in the 1st gen fogs will build up too much heat and burn out, run 35W's only.

Do 35W only! 55w will burn a lot of heat in the foglight housings.
