What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Took out my 5K HID foglights. Really starting to get tired of HID's in the foglights. Not that I had a problem with them I just think it's starting to be played out. I've been seeing too many dodge caravans and honda odysseys doing it and thats not a good thing lol. I bought some Putco Jet yellow bulbs instead to be different. Thanks to JBaker for making me change my mind. I was going to go with the Nokya Hyper yellow bulbs but changed my mind as I was something with a even deeper yellow color.

I love them so far and they look sexy. I'll post pictures later.

They're yellow halogen bulbs but slightly brighter than stock and are a deep yellow color. I think they look sick:

I'm just tired of HID's in the fogs because it's played out and the glare is unbearable to look at.

Dealer called me today to update on what's going on with my fx. Said they replaced some O2 and air fuel sensors or something and check engine light is still on. They said next step I have to do is take off the Invidia catback and replace with stock to see if that's the problem (which is a hassle because I know that's not the problem and the issue is bad cats) so once I show them that installing the stock system back on will make no difference and the check engine light will still be on they said they will replace the cats. I feel like there's no need for me to swap them out. Anyway else agree? What should I do? I plan on driving there tomorrow am

I can't remember the rules with aftermarket mods and warranties because I've heard both sides. But I want to say it's on the dealership to prove the mod is the problem, and not your job to prove it isn't.

I would go to another dealer with the problem.

They should be able to pinpoint what code means what and from where. That's bullcrap. And how come we are starting to see a few 2009 issues arise? :((((

Because people are starting to rack up more and more miles on them. The more miles a car has something is bound to show up.

But from what I've seen on here the problems are nothing serious. My issue with spark knock was solved by using techron. about 5 days already and the noise is gone. I even filled up today :smug:

I know more miles, but still. Just I guess if I see some issues popup I'm assuming I'm going to run into them and slightly worried now that my warranty will be up in less than 5k miles. That's all.

I got some quotes a month ago from the dealership for an extended warranty and they're pretty expensive. I'm not saying something would go wrong with my FX down the road but since I have all the tech options and what not I would rather just play it safe.

- Changed the belts
- Installed new fog light housings
- New fog light hid kit complete with 5K bulbs and new 5K D2S bulbs thanks to Brian from Koso Kustomz
- Cleaned K&N

Uh oh, watch out for the oil in the maf debate..

Well, I've already cleaned this filter a few times following the same steps and no problems so far. Just drove 25 miles and still good. Going to check out that debate, thanks PMG.
