What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Not really feeling the cost of the whole thing, plus I like having the mud flaps :smile (2):..

Nice avatar Wayne.... Looks like we were in the same forest..

LOL, thanks Ian, I'm surprised I didn't meet you on that trail:wink (2): I like the look of the spoiler with just the splash guards

I will never break... lol.. I just have to stay away from bucktown/wicker park area so I won't see your car... And you stay away from the west loop..

Since Old Man Winter decided to skip Chicago this year, I took advantage of the amazing weather to first of all, replace my driver side fogs with 4350K Halogens (didn't want it to be much whiter since they are afterall foglights). It was a bit easier than I thought to get to the fogs from the front wheel-wells. I did have to take off some trim.

Since the trim was already off and I was already under the car, I decided to install my OEM Aero Front Chin. I must say that this completes the look for me. Something about the front end was 'too sharp' (profile) for me. Yes, it would look neater if it was a molded piece but I still really like it. Yes, a slight drop (or 22"s) may also help but I am far from that now. Perhaps one day I will feel the urge to do so. :)

Looking really sharp Phil! Great job! Nice and shiny too! Congrats and doing it yourself!

BTW, it's supposed to warm up again...it's never going to be winter. Sorry guys, it was my fault. I bought winter tires and a snowblower in November.

Thanks man! Truth be told, getting to the fogs was harder than the lip install. Hardest part of lip is getting the template right. Fortunately, I was more patient than usual.

Upgraded my navigation maps! had 7.3 now 7.6 :P

Awesome. Is it very different? Are the new versions still >$100? Really expensive especially since most have Navi data in their phones.

:top: I like it! It looks really good. I totally agreed with you that the front profile was a bit too sharp. Particularly the middle area between the fog lights.

I'm all done, but I tapped the alternator connection with my ratchet this morning and blew a fuse. I just got back from the dealer but got Shanghai'd by parenting before I could replace said fuse. First startup will have to wait for tomorrow.

Btw, failing to disconnect the battery before this job cost me $64, a trip to the dealer, and however long it takes to swap the positive terminal on the battery.

Tim, I might have missed it, how does your ride perform and sound now that you have the headers installed

You didn't miss anything. I haven't had much time this week for personal stuff. I'm hoping to have the DIY and a product review with my impressions done tonight. The short answer is "good". ;)

Scheduled appointment for oil change money....I plan on giving them the blackstone tube to fill oil in and will send off for analysis as I'm really curious.

Good stuff.
The funny thing is, I have an appointment to get mine serviced at the Infiniti Dealers on Monday morning as well. It hasn't been to the Infiniti Dealers since last spring.
Wish I had a garage, it would not be going right now either.

So right before New Years I took the FX to the dealer to have the brake rotors replaced and new pads installed. It was expensive endeavor, but I just wanted to get it taken care of and be done. Well in the last week I noticed that there was some road noise coming from the front passengers suspension. Instead of the dull thud I'm used to going over bumps in the pavement, I was getting a higher pitch, more metallic sound. I took it back into the dealer to see if they had forgotten a step and left something loose. I just got a call and everything was tight, but they took it out for a test drive and noticed the same thing. The car is out of warranty, but the dealer is going to split the price of a replacement strut with Infiniti USA and just take care of it since I was just in. Realizing they'll still make money off of me long term, but sometimes it's nice to deal with a dealer...

...and the G37x loaner is a damn fast car.

im at 169 kms

i think the heavy asanti rims i had on along with the wheel adapters put too much stress on it.
n maybe the 70kms i put on it in one year might of result in the wear n tear on the car :(
