What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

The Transgo mod seems to be gaining momentum.... DIY?

re plate frames: honestly, I think it's your actual plate that doesn't match with the car.. how about putting a tinted cover over it? Do the cops care there?

Walked by my ever increasing Pile o' Parts and sighed heavily at the thought of waiting another week to get the time for an install day...

Pileoparts.jpg

Wait, wait... I see some ATF fluid, light weight crank pulley, belts and tada... the Transgo Shift kit. You will like how it shifts. Just take your time. Good luck man.

Yes on both counts. If not for the three "no front plate" tickets I received within a couple months of purchasing the FX I wouldn't even have a front plate. Suffice it to say the cops (and parking enforcement) are hardcore here about generating revenue.

Thanks! What can I say, you're an inspiration.

What pulley is that?

THIS, THIS, and THIS.

As a consolation installation I swapped my chrome license plate bracket for a rear mounted black version. Not sure how I feel about it just yet...

I'm not a fan of the front plate, but I dont hate my black frame either. Seems to look OK. Just an idea.

Call me an architect but I just can't dig the color on the plate frames. Or the text for that matter. I like a more contemporary, low profile look. I thought the rear mount would be perfect, but seeing it installed makes me think I may have gone too far in the right direction... (Surprise surprise :laugh)

It's a tiny red dot , but True. You wouldnt exactly call out a nismo if you've got none. I guess my intention was to show you a black frame. Imagine black . . no color, call it architect.
Mine also came with caps to hide the ugly screws.

You can always just use glossy black spray paint and go over it and use some kind of mold to mold in the beverton. Thats what i was thinkin to do with mine.

Another good point. I would like one though, that hides the bottom two screw holes like yours does. My plate mount omits the bottom mounting points entirely anyway.

I'm not that crafty... Aside from that a chrome plate frame with no logo and of similar quality is only $8 at any parts store. :dontknow:

true, however i like the infiniti logo, just not the beverton part of it. And infiniti charges like 48 for a plate or set? Its not to hard. Just put in some clay in the beverton, let it dry and then sand over the top untill its flush with the plate and spray paint.

Bought the Audiovox AS9233ST Car Prestige Add-On Security and Remote Start Upgrade to Factory Keyless Entry from my cousin.

Now trying to find time to get it installed.

Will give me remote start and alarm using ONLY the factory OEM I-Key, or the additional remote start remote (which I won't use).

I'm also adding on CarLink, which will let me get 2-way on my Smart Phone, with $29.99/year service charge.

Can't wait. No extra keys, but add on alarm and remote start? Priceless.

Crutchfield gives the best description.

:tup:I like the "StartStick" remote. Small little remote unit. Cool, I might be copying you in getting this setup too. I miss my remote starter this winter. I have plan to install one, by myself of course

It's simple, just make sure you buy the bypass pre-flashed for the FX.

DEI (Viper, Avital), etc... uses a lock lock sequence to remote start where audiovox uses lock unlock lock to remote start -- much less resistance to false starts in pocket.

Only other thing is a horn unless you want to use the factory horn.

maybe it'll be done next time i see u.

oh yeah, it's only $80 on amazon.com btw.

It's the same, the picture is one from the official website:

You can check out different prices here too:

You can probably submit an offer on ebay and get it slightly cheaper:

I like amazon because it ships from amazon (this product), so it comes with their customer service/warranty.

You'll want this:

or

You can buy the one from Crutchfield. The one from Crutchfield is custom for your car and they come pre-flashed and programmed, at around $80-$90, so that might be your best bet for out of the box to work right away.

You will see that you don't have to use a valet key or hide a key!!!! Love technology to clone the chip.

If you don't want the alarm feature, this is even cheaper at like $40-$50:

Nice, I always wanted a remote start. I just ordered the 04 Cherokee Skid Plate. I'm thinking of painting the color of my FX. I need someone to photoshop on how it would look if possible.
