I ordered the rear gtspec setup in the GB, so when they arrive i'll let you guys know how it goes. Stu and I were going to meet up to compare the rear braces, but never got around too it.

I don't think 1/2" growth is the gaskets expanding. I can see how the exhaust would get 1/2" longer if it got hot enough. I work with alot of steam pipes and those expand as they heat up. The longer the run the longer the expansion.

Group buy for this exhause would be perfect if I had money. I just bought the GTspec set, and been partying a little too much so now i'm spent.

FYI, BOTH GTspec rear braces fit with the 1st gen Q300. . The rear lateral is really close to the passenger side piping. about 1/2 inch distance/gap. I took it around the block and cornered hard. and went over a speed bump with no rattle/rub.

tight fit

Yo M-That's exactly the clearance I got on the Gemini, sounds like 1/2" is what it is but it's all that it takes....You were one of the first to step up on the 300, you still digging it?

loving it man. I took a dive as one of the first to get this exhaust, but never looked back. I mean, Its a true dual at a great price, and by a known manufacturer. I was more worried If the GTspec rears were going to fit, but took a chance on that, and it turned out nicely. I'm sure that there will be a whole lot more FX's with this setup after you, djpathfinder and I have tested the waters. Invidia and GTspec FTW.

i will be getting the exhaust soon im very excited. anyone in ny?

I will take a guess that you need stiffer exhaust hangers (either NISMO or polyurethane aftermarket) or you need an extra hanger above the W-brace near the middle of the car that is for side impact.

Get the car on a lift or go underneath if you can fit (Rhino ramps), and bang on your exhaust while cold and see if it's hitting anything. Work your way from the cats down to the rear section exhaust.

This occurs in the NISMO exhaust due to the extra weight of the G35 extension and sometimes it happens on the HKS mid-pipe due to not a 100% perfect bend over the W-brace.

I put on a stiffer hanger and no extra hangers and it solved the problem.

Then again, it could be something else, but worth a shot.

I thing I have this issue will any Muffler shop have stiffer hangers? If not any where I can buy it locally, and what size? ex.
3" x 1 7/8" x 7/8" Hole to Hole 1 3/4" , 12mm Holes

You can't get it at any muffler shop. You just need two.

I have 9 mm ones on. It was REALLY hard to get them on, but they work for sure. Maybe try the 12 mm ones.

About to install this exhaust on my 2006 FX45 - what types of modifications will need to be made in order to accomodate this exhaust? I believe I read somewhere that the tips need to be shortened ???? Thanks in advance for any help

I don't recall any fitment issue at all with the Invidia on the 35 nor 45. If any, it would be clearance issue for those that have aftermarket GTSPEC braces on.
