FX45 / Invidia Q300 exhaust

Just based on comparing pictures, the upper brace should fit without any problems. There's confident speculation that there should be enough room for the lower brace, but no one has both the GT-Spec full rear set up AND an Invidia exhaust to confirm this. Anyone want to be the guinea pig?

I know the Invidia exhaust hasn't been dyno'd on the FX. And, there's only a handful of us that have just installed the exhaust...perhaps you SoCal guys can have a meet and some of you FX35 owners with Nismo exhausts can race Gordon to compare??

is should be no problem with the Full GT-Spec pics

no no no for you will. you have header and the test-pipe a lot faster than me i know

Alan told me already..you are the fast one(no turbo no superchange).

hahaha...maybe alan ok...lol:iS:

Man, the side of the lower brace that angles up more gradually but more quickly than the other side looks like it might have issues with a pipe. I have the full set of GTS braces on order and the invidia does sound good, but the guinea pig route sounds spendy. On Gordon's image number one above-Is the black bar a sway bar? There is no way a pipe is getting between the GTS brace and that bar correct? Or am I seeing it incorrectly? Also on a side note I was wondering if its in Invidia's best interests to run a dyno showing actual gains on both the 35 and 45 to help sell the product......

A sway bar! Maybe I should spend a little more quality time under my car looking to see what the hell is under there already.......so if that's the case the pipes SHOULD fit around the lower brace. On the performance issue-I like the sound of the stock pipes, I like the thought of more power, do you feel like you got more low end and midrange juice out of the Invidia? I really don't want to spend the cash just for more sound......

I think the AWDs have a sway bar, but not the RWDs (at least not for the FX35)...which really surprised me when I found out a few weeks ago. Anyhow, I definitely do notice better throttle response. I'm glad, cuz I wouldn't do it solely on sound either...that would just be a waste of money. Is it head snapping like forced induction? No, of course not. But I can definitely attest to an improvement in the low and mid-range. I don't rev it beyond 5500 rpm often, so I can't really say for sure about the higher revs. A couple of other members on this forum and the Org with 45s also reported improved throttle response (Myl168 for sure).

A 350Z was dyno'ed to produce something like 25 more HP with the Invidia exhaust (Gordon posted some pics and the dyno chart earlier in this thread)...that's a decent increase, assuming our exhaust (which is probably modified from one off of a G/Z) does about the same, or perhaps a little more with a V8. I was definitely curious and thought of trying to do a before and after dyno to see the results, but there isn't a 4WD dyno near where I live so that was a no-go.

I made my mind up that this is the exhaust i'm getting when that time comes.
Unfortunatly I don't think it will happen until next year though, unless I get some overtime at work. From the pics & vids I've seen, this exhaust looks like good quality stainless and the welds look very clean as well. I'm into that kinda detail.
I would definatly choose this over stillens.

Good input DJ, butt dyno's can be just as telling as graphs. I agree with Hyme, the quality of the workmanship looks excellent and that also counts for a lot in my book.
So Hyme what do you think, there are a few people out there on the fence, group buy.......?

Absolutely, the quality is top notch. Clean welds. The pieces fit together really well. They packed the pieces in their own plastic bags, and all the pieces fit like a jigsaw puzzle in the box.

Doh! Group buy after I bought mine?!?!?

Oh, one more thing, I swear when the pipes are hot, the tips extend about 1/2 inch further back. My wife noticed the same thing too.

I don't know. Is it the pipes that are expanding? My brother bought an Eisenmann stainless steel exhaust for his Z4 M Coupe and his does that too...I didn't believe him at first when he told me...but the same happens to mine.

Sorry man, always one to capitalize on an opportunity. Maybe not enough interest, and maybe Gordon won't bite.....I'll probably buy it anyway. Interesting on the system length increase when hot. 1/2 inch is a fair gain, I assume the stainless has to be stable and that Stulax is right on the money with the gasket diagnosis, maybe its a little of both. kind of odd regardless, have you pulled an actual measurement to verify the growth?

Ya, I figured what else is in the exhaust that would be moving. I would highly doubt the pipes are, this isn't the concorde jet. Only other thing in there is the gaskets. Don't they expand when heated to seal? Must be just being so new.
