Vibration issue...

Do you guys think there's a difference between one place to another? Is that something that takes skills? (in terms of wheels/tire balancing)

yes, there is a difference, in equiptment & the equiptment being calibrated AND in the guy doing it... some guys are good & care about what there doing & make a high effort in centering the weight to the position referenced on the balancer & some guys are much more haphazard & careless... those are the ones where you see spin, add weights, spin, add weights, spin, add weights & spin again, add again...... that's because there not hitting the exact center of where the machine indicates weights are needed... if your acurate in your placement it usually takes no more than 2 spins to get it to 0 out... sometimes 3 at most, sometimes only one too. the equiptment itself also makes a difference...

Ken are you going to take some pictures....?

yeah, I will. But I'm in South OC today and tomorrow and I left my camera at home... I'll probably barrow my friend's... The weather's really nice too... it's like 75° at the beach...

By the way... I called up Elements and they think it could be the spacers...

hmmmmm I kinda watched them from a distance and it didn't look like it took them too much attempts (like in the example you gave). The good thing is... it's life time warranty so, if I have to I can keep going back to them and make'em do it right and not have to pay anymore...

*btw, I apologize ahead of time for not multi quoting, it's hard to with my Treo...

update

okay, a quick update on the vibration issue...

this past week, I've been exchanging PMs with Shady, called LMS, called several wheel shops, I even called Elements... On Friday, Shady asked me if we can meet up again cuz he wants to check it out for himself...

So, we met up earlier today... Took him for a ride and indeed... he acknowledged the vibrating. When he got out of my FX, he had this puzzled look, walked around my car several times looking closely at each wheel/tire...

...then he asked me..."...you DID check the tire pressure, right?" I was like... "...ahhhh, NO". Well, he went on to suggest that I should do that first... and then if that doesn't work (add or let air out depending on pressure), then... he suggested a bunch of other things to try before alignment... cuz everything else would be free.

anyway, I've lost my tire pressure gauge... so I went to Kragen's just before they close, got one... checked all the tires right there in the parking lot... ALL four tires were off!!! 3 of them were waaaaaaaaay low, the 4th was waaaaaaaaay high, passed the max. of 50psi...

...went straight to a gas station, put air in the 3, corrected the 4th... now the vibration is about 90-95% gone!!! HUGE difference!

right now, I'm kinda feeling like the dumb blonde that takes her iPod back to the store to return, and the employee asking her "...you DID charge the battery, right?"

 Ken, well at least I think that solved your issue. Test it out some more and report back.

Cool that you finally checked to see that it was plugged in.
No worries, couldve happened to any of us experts

hmmmmm so, I notice most of you guys are runnin' your tires at mid 30 psi... But in order to get rid of the vibration, I have to run'em in the 40-45 psi... the tire says "max 50 psi"... is this okay? or should I lower the psi? (but I'll probably get some of that vibration back)

You should run the tires with the optimal psi the tire stats. Too much air and you will sacrifice road grip. Run the FX with different psi's and see what happens.
