brake light, slip light & vss off light, wtf?

i take it where i bought it... metro infiniti in monrovia? their always good to me and they have delicious cookies. they wanted me to bring it back to day and i was like no no no.
the last loaner i had was an 07 and what a huge difference...

that is exactly what hapened to mine, a little tiny amount of holding the throttle plate open just a tiny bit & same results, it caused the tps to read a little higher that the ecu expected to see, made it totally undrivable & dash lit up like a christmas tree... no throttle response... when I first got the car I thought something was really screwed up with it, ecu, maybe the mass air sensor... I was so happy when I found the whole thing was caused buy a tiny piece of debris smaller than the head of a matchstick... lucky thing for me too, if the fx ran perfect after the hit my customer would have been much less likely to want to just get rid of it in the first place, so I can actually say that without the tiny piece of scrap in my throttle plate, I wouldn't even have ever had my fx:tongue: what a cool piece of plastic scrap that was:biggrin:

Huh, I thought my dealer was the only one with Miss Fields  Guess it's a corporate thing.

TPS caused ALL those lights to come on and the FX to crawl?

i hope so... they say thats all that was wrong with my car so ill find out tomorrow

you should have saved it and framed it... prolly saved you many thousands of dollars

hah... i thought mine was the special dealer... the cranberry cookies are awesome

by the way... i just noticed the huge thread jack i had... my problems fixed but what about
turbocad's

OK, I got a weird problem with my fx, just started about 2 weeks ago. first I noticed that when I first start the car, I would sometimes get this weird abs noise, slight, hard to explain really, kinda sounds like a wet springy noise, like what you here when abs kicks in... only does it like once & slightly... this is immediately after a cold start

then, maybe a week after this started, I start her up one day & pushed her cold through a hard u turn & my brake light came on the dash, followed a few seconds later by the slip light & the vs off light... these lights stayed on though... a little while later I shut it of & restarted & all was fine.

a few days later, the same thing.. first the brake light, then a few seconds later, the slip & vss off, since then it's been happening off & on for about a week. it doesn't do it all the time, only when she's cold. it seems to be triggered by the brake light, cause it always comes on first... the strange part is the brake light does go out after a while, once the brake light goes out, a restart clears the other 2 lights (slip & vss off) & it never comes back on again until another cold start, but if I try to restart before the brake light decides to go off, it will still come back on a restart, it's only after the brake light goes out that a restart clears the other lights...

I tried searching & didn't come up with much, one reference to something a little similar by someone who later determined it was cause his rear brakes were low & needed to be changed, but I checked my brakes & they aren't excessively low, also the brake fluid is above the minimum line... I would change all the brakes but I'm holding out cause I want to do something better than stock, & I'm not quite ready to start getting too deep $$$ there just yet....

anyone have any ideas? anyone know if brakes are included in drive train warranty, of course not the pads & rotors, but the abs & stuff? I'm out of warranty but drive train is still covered a bit longer... I hate to think of bringing it into the dealer, haven't had a chance yet to borrow a friends scanner to see if that shows anything... any ideas? I'm hoping it's not something huge like the abs pump or something...

yeah, I guess... It saved me a bundle really, I bought my fx for 7 grand:eek: but then again it was pretty hurt too :)

I actually think I did save that tiny piece of air cleaner plastic, it's in my office somewhere:wub:

my problem appears to be the low brake fluid, didn't think it coulda caused this but all evidence so far points to that really, funny that it is still just over the minimum line though,I guess when it's really cold the fluid contracts & hits the float sensor enough to cause this... the other little sound on startup is still a mystery though...
