Do you think its possible to retrofit paddle shifters onto a GS400 since i already have

buttons on the steering wheel to change gears? Some cutting and rewiring probably needs to be done but can the whole process be completed? Also i would need someone to do the install..

Just wondering if it possible.. I've seen your write up multiple times and it amazes me everytime..
 
it should be very possible, the real question is if there is enough room for the switches themselves inside the steering column. actually I just bought a Mercedes S500 & it has tiptronic at the shifter but nothing at the steering wheel at all, was thinking the same thing, to add these paddle shifters to that eventually, it to should be very doable for any car with electrical tiptronic type shifting as long as theres room to mount the switches...

i love the paddle shifters that you have installed, and by any chance is it possible you could write a guide on how to install those ? :D
 
man, I wish I had more time to work on this damn thing, it's really going slow with just an hour here & an hour there once in a while when I can... cutting & beveling each piece is noisy so I can only do it at certain times too. this is def coming out way better & more professional than the first set of headers but a lot of work

so far got one side pretty close... it'll get there,....... eventually :)

Wow Man! you've done alot of work building, machining, fabricating, installing and the list goes on. I have to give up to you, you havent quit yet although im sure it has ventured your mind once or twice but the challenge is still on. I can see when someone verbally challenges you, or say it cant be done you fight to th end which is great.

On your header rebuild funny how things work you started out making the first set and contemplating on doing it all yourself at the begining but decided to farm the work out to a friend but later going back to do it all yourself anyway. The second time is always a charm. When we do things the first time we usually dont quite get them perfected all at once because of the imperfections but when we do it again the imperfection turn into perfections if you get my drift. I've followed this thread all the way through and all I can say is "Do What Do" Man and continue on that journey until finish.

I've been a hot roddered myself with American Cars and decided I had enough of that in my life but dont get me wrong there are still some nice ones out on the road but not for me.

I do like the CarPc thing you did maybe i will have to try an attempt at that myself.

Keep on truckin as we uas to see back in the day. and im going to keep on watching and learning from you guys. :cool:
