Finally, The Wait Is Over!!

I attempted to install the AWD Y-Pipe from Chedman and Kakumei.

It bolted up like a glove! I love the sound of it. A bit louder but a nice growl and no raspyness. It does feel smoother and quicker.

So it's confirmed that it works with a 2007 FX35 AWD.
I'll post more pix tonight of the install...for now, back to work..

Happy to hear it fits perfect. Now we have someone to confirm same y-pipe for a 2007, thanks for being a test pilot Keemo.

Keemo - you have a couple of the the best bang for the buck mods. K&N drop in and Y-pipe.

Dr.2K -- You have a drop in K&N? Decided to go back to stock even with the TS flash?

It was fun to test it out, and besides, I figured if it didnt work someone would take it off my hands.

Here are some pix of the install.

And a couple of vids. I really have to work on my videography...they're very noisy but if you turn it up you get the idea.

I know, I know,...when the time comes it will be HKS or NISMO for sure. Most likely not until after winter. :frown:

What's the can in the mid pipe for?
NISMO FTW!! your y-pipe has a 3" outlet which mates perfectly to the 3" mid pipe of the nismo.
the "can" in your midpipe is the resonator i believe...

Wow looking good.. bling bling indeed...

You have done more to your FX in the past 3 months than I did in a year... Looking good and thanks for taking pictures and sharring..

Nothing fancy, got +2 timing done. And if anyone doesn't have this one done, I recommend it. Instant increase in torque feel, for $30 at stealership. Very happy with results.

Interesting, VK's ignition timing is +12BTDC, so +2 is +14BTDC.

How does the +2 feel? a little extra bump in the beginning or is it felt through the whole RPM?
i still need to do this...i need to find a dealership that will do it.

did you call the service dept and just ask if they do +2 timing or what?

So far I haven't had the chance to fully open it up but definitely a difference from idle to 4k rpm. But will update. It seemed to give more of a slight growl, or more of a good rip in response... I think.

I had my 12km service and asked to speak with the tech. I just asked him if he could advance the timing from 15btdc to 17. He said he had to check with the foreman but it turned out ok. I also made sure they put Mobil 1 in. They charged me 1/3hrs to do it. Just have to make sure that premium gas is always put in the tank to avoid chances of detonation. But it was actually pretty simple. Just try with a dealership around town, I'm sure one of them will help you out when you get an oil change.

Keemo, as Chedman wrote...the default base timing for the VK is 12 BTDC so why was yours at 15BTDC to begin with? and why go to 17? I have not seen or heard of any VK engine with that high of a BTDC. Glad you like the result but hmm.......

I know you just missed it, but I have a 35 not 45.

Ah....lol sorry keemo I should have paid more attention to your sig. I just assumed it was a 45 since that what Chedman had written. My bad.

OK, So I'm back from Holidays and have some catching up to do with all yall.

Some of these are repeats, so bare with me.

36LED DTRL's, one of them already blew so I ordered two more just incase.
