What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Was getting a bad vibration while high speed braking so replaced front rotors with a new pair of drilled/slotted from R1 (same as old). Could have gotten them resurfaced but honestly too lazy to take down to shop when new rotors are relatively inexpensive. Got new pads too but surprisingly front pads still had a ton of life after 32k though I've gone through 3 sets of rears in same time.

FWIW, if anyone in Atlanta wants a set of drilled/slotted front rotors that fits the Akebono calipers, pick them up and they're yours free. I feel bad throwing them out since they're functional and just need to be resurfaced.

I installed a Flowmaster Super 44 series muffler and all I can say is "me likey". Once I know how to upload videos I will upload one.

Installed BC coilovers + Megan control arms (had a shop install the rear control arms) and finally picked it up from the alignment shop.

Followed the DIY instructions by la_fx35 and the whole process wasn't too bad (front struts were a pain in the butt to get out tho)
Are you running spacers ? If so what size front and rear, needs some advice what size to run

Theres a thread like this on g35nyc and thought it was a pretty neat idea... Basically just talking about what we did to our FX's or EX's today as most of us cant seem to stop playing with it, hehe.

SO! What did you do to your rides today that you would like to share?

Well guess i'll start:

Today, cleaned the k&n cone filter then reoiled it. Worried about overoiling but no CEL so far. Made a big difference, as the filter was extremely dirtyyyyyyy (like completely black)
Finally received and put in floor mats - they look pretty good IMO, what do you guys think?

I have a little doormat that pops out when you open the doors so people can take their shoes off before entering - lmao! Thanks guys

Installed the curt 56074 wiring harness for the trailer hitch. I could not find my multimeter so I imprevised with a spare bulb.
I'm in the market for a small...getting everything setup incase I find something.

Are you aware of any sites that walk you through the panel removal process in the back of the QX 70 where you get at the wiring harnesses for the rear lights. I am somewhat nervous of breaking off those plastic mounting tabs that attach whatever panel or panels that need to be removed to do the wiring to both rear lights. I need access to the main wiring harness to each of those lights. I found u-tube videos for some other vehicles but not the QX 70. Any info on this removal process (and what panels need to be removed near the spare tire) would be appreciated. The Infiniti dealer does not do the wiring installs they told me. Thanks

I have the Teconsha kit where no splicing or actual hook up to the OEM wiring is required. Sensors are used for each trailer function and these sensors just wrap around the vehicle wiring. Pretty cool set up so there is no fear of damaging any of the vehicle wiring or circuits.

Almost done blacking her out, just wrapping all the chrome with vinyl. Rims are next but I can't decide to do plastidip, powdercoat, or vinyl on them..

winds up being more expensive than the vinyl and plastdip (same effect) more coats and 8 hour wait no thanks lol

Lol hopefully I don't run into any issues. I really like the finished look of the product WAY better than plasti dip since they fade over time.

did you vinyl wrap the roof rails?

the rails yes, for now the four end covers are dipped black with the glossifier. Ill vinyl them as well once I get more in.
@AxelFX The look is pretty good but Im going with the matte black base coat with graphite metalizer for the rims. With the dip coat on top of that it adds even more gloss and fading shouldn't happen too soon either.
