Posting here as a simple heads up to the group, I bought a pair of Z1's high flow cats springtime last year and finally got around to putting them on in the fall (thanks COVID). They bolted on easily and I spent the winter looking forward to firing up the FX to listen to them hum, but unfortunately it threw a P2A03 code several weeks ago and now I've been left hanging.

My local shop spent a full day tracking down the source of the code and finally identified an exhaust leak at the weld on the left cat. I naturally reached out to Z1 to see if they could help by allowing me to exchange for a replacement and they responded by asking for pictures. After sending pictures of the cat as well as the rest of my exhaust system (this is a rust free southern car), and providing them with the phone number to reach the technician if they had any questions, I was told that "they were purchased too long ago, sorry". The technician confirmed that they did not actually reach out to him. A couple more canned responses from Z1 later and am I posting here to make sure others don't have the same experience.

I've got the stock cat laying around somewhere and the bolts are still shiny so putting it back on shouldn't much trouble. Sadly I'll be scrapping the Z1's in the hopes that I can get something back for the $600 it cost me.

Disappointed to say the least.

Don't toss them. Have the weld fixed. I wouldn't give anyone a dime before I first got some "original" JB Weld, cleaned the area in question with degreaser and then maybe acetone, then scored the area in a cross-hatch pattern to give the weld something to bite onto (which is what I did) then applied the weld as instructs read. I'm not sure if the weld will tolerate that kind of heat though I did use this product instead of getting the hard water lines welded when I deleted a bunch of useless heater hoses and several years later, no problem. If this doesn't hold, then have the area welded but I bet it'll hold.

On this note,
Just received package from Z1 to Toronto, Canada
Waited for.....2.5 months for pair or their rear rotors.
And what a poor state the package is in:
50lb of their performance rotors and other parts came damaged and some other items missing.
Box was falling apart when I got it. Had holes in it.
Inside - no individual boxes for the rotors. So they basically rubbed and banged each other. One has deep scratches, the other one got dents.
Resolution - return to UPS for inspection trying to make them take the blame for the damaged parcel.

So....they basically washed their hands right away saying it's all UPS fault.....
Called them, emailed them.
Stuck with this stuff I guess.

Wonder if there is an alternative store for NISSAN parts?
