I have UR underdrive pulley, the only problem facing me untill now is the noise that comes from the pulley when stopping :err:. I will wait till the summer and then maybe there will be another issue (A/C). otherwise, it's a great mod. nice gains specially at low RPMs.

Just got a question regarding the pulley. I heard the stock pulley is designed to let the belt "slip" in case of emergency. With the pulley replacing with aftermarket one, the belt will not "slip" and in case of emergency such as car slipping on icy road, the crank shaft will suffer from high stress and be damaged, since the wheels are not grabbing the road.

Is that true?

I have a WRP stock sized pulley......no issues.

As for performance? Not much, the thing that I noticed was the rpm's climbed with a lil more ease. The engine didnt have to work as hard to get to those higher rpms.

Deecarp just recently put in a pulley and hes running a system and hes got no issues as I remember. He said he felt some good gains as far as performance. But I'll let him disclosed his findings....

I have a cnr lightweight crank pulley, had problems at first but after sleeving it...no problems. Make sure the pulley you get is sleeved.

Can you explain or show a picture of what, "sleeving" is on the pulley?

A sleeve is a very thin steel cover over the crank pulley hub.

Here is a pic:

that wrp pully looks like a UR pully with a wrp stamp on it.
How does the UR pully compare to the stillen. I noticed stillen has the set of three pullies for not much more than a single UR pully

btw, what size is the stock crank pully?

I can't comment on the WRP, but I can on the UR, I love the dam thing. I just makes me wish I was RWD. There is a nice gain having the underdrive. I would think with the ligther stock pulley you feel it gain as well. No issue running my audio system with it either.

Got the UR stock size pulley set today. Looking forward to the install. This thread was great for the discussion and helped me decide stock/underdrive & brand.

I took my WRP off this weekend.....look for it in the classifieds this weekend.
