WHEEL WEIGHT: OEM 20" Confirmed

That's right, I did have a set I bought... painted and sold back in 2006. Ended up not using them, cause I thought they were heavy.

:nerd:

guess the scale was 10bs off that day eh? no worries man we all make mistakes :smile (2):

now we just gotta wait for a few guys to weigh their stockers, if '03-'05 & '06-'08's weigh the same then we've got a definitive answer.

funny how these guys tracked down your orig. 42lb post:laugh:

Maybe weigh that Goodyear tire too. I recall that the wheel & tire weighed a ton together.

i've searched infinitiscene as well as infinitifx.org for few good hours trying to find out oem wheel weight and that was one of two threads with useful info. and the reason old thread is being tracked down is all the experienced forum members don't help out newbies and only answer from asking is either HEAVY or SEARCH! :tongue (2):

tire don't really matter since we're just comparing the wheel itself.

Tire Rack lists tire weights, so people can still weigh the whole thing and get some idea of whether they have the 40 or 30 pounder. I found my tires average weight is around 36 lbs, so I'll take off a little for wear, and see if my wheel and tire weigh about 65 or 75.

I have a 2003 AWD FX35 and the stock wheels and tires are coming off tomorrow. According to Toyo, my tires weigh 39lbs new so I should be able to get a pretty good idea of what the rim weighs since my tires only have about 1500 miles on them.

awesome. the suspense is killing me=) I've been thinking the OEM's were 41 lbs for around 5 years!

wow, this changes my whole perception of wheel weights on the fx, I used to feel good thinking my 22's were a little lighter than stock 20's :tongue (2):

^I wouldn't swear to it, but I don't think mine ('04) are hollowed out in the back like that...

EDIT:
Scratch that, I just ran out and checked. They look just like Stu's.

yup, mine from '06 was hollow like that.
three of the eight spokes had the stamping inside the hollow area.
1. NISSAN
2. ET40
3. 20x8

Well guys, slight delay on weighing my stock 20's. The mechanic just called to inform me that he doesn't have the time to work on my car after all so the appointment I made over a week ago to have my wheels and springs put on is now pushed back to next week. I'll probably just go get it back and take it somewhere else, not sure I want somebody that irresponsible working on my car...

My local mechanic is awesome. He goes to the track on the weekends so he knows his stuff too for "mod" happy clients.

His business is run on no appointment, first come first serve. It works out very well. I just get there when it opens and pick up my car after work.

If he needs a part, he just drives to the closest infiniti/nissan dealership for parts.

I shipped out my 20s before but I dont recall how much they weigh.

I guess someone can ask an eBay seller who has them. :nerd (2):

I'll probably give them another chance, they're really good guys and have done all the work on my previous cars, but their scheduling is crazy. They're always overbooked and I never seem to get my car back when they say I will. This latest scheduling problem means I now have to wait until the 28th to get my wheels and springs put on, which is going to make me nuts.

One of the reasons I go to this place is that they're across the street and they're always working on old muscle cars, Dodge Vipers, Porsches etc. so I trust them with my simple mods.

Oh well, patience is a virtue I guess...

Sounds like they have higher paying clients so you got pushed back. Not a sound business practice.
