Wheel Spacer Question

Shipped to us in Ontario id say the springs will come to roughly $300...depending on if you have to pay duties or not. installation will be roughly $200-250, but it is also recommended that you do an alignment after the springs settle around a month later and that will set you back close to $100.

damn...i just realized how much it costs all together :confused:

dont forget the cost of the spacers and the price to install those too...

I am ordering the 20MM h&r spacer to add to my H&R springs....

Now all i need to complete my suspension side for now are the following braces, i already have the engine tie and the ladder brace....

GT Spec Rear Lower Tie Brace for 04+ Infiniti FX35/FX45

GT Spec Front Strut Bar for 04+ Infiniti FX35/FX45

Does any one know where I can get the above at least the front strut bar...has any one heard about "strong-strut" tower bars.

It will be nice to keep the same mfrs on as many parts as possible...I might have to go the Stillen route for the tower strut...does anyone have feedback on the stillen tower brace....

It will be nice to complete all this with one shot visit to my mechanic....and do a jekyll and Hyde thing you know..like into the shop a beast and come roaring out with my Q300 exhaust a Super beast....that will be nice.

Any feedback on my Q's will be much appreciated..Thanks again.

White box generally = ''made in China " , for a minimal savings of 30-40 bucks, would you trust these ''untested , unrated '' spacers at 120 miles per hour ? Get the German H&R's , quality skimped on wheel spacers designed to hold the weight and centrifical forces by spacer alone is crazy . They should not even sell these to the public IMHO.
 
I just noticed an issue with my 25mm spacers. They are generic spacers that I got from another member. The issue is that the passenger side rear wheel sticks out a little further than the driver side rear wheel. About half a cm. I have had these spacers on for a while, but just noticed this today while I was looking closely at them. I haven't noticed any problems while driving, but this cant be good. I looked closely at both of the rear spacers and they seem to be the exact same size. The two fronts wheels are both even.

Does anyone have an idea of why it would be like this. I might buy some new H&R or Ichiba 25mm spacers, but don't know if that will solve the problem since the spacers I have now seem to be the same size. Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated. Again, I don't know who makes the spacers I have, but I do know that they are generic.

Can you tell if it is the rim that sticks out further or just the sidewall of your tire?

Maybe post some photos so we can see what you are describing?
 
Could be a variety of factors, one of which could be your wheel well could be pushed in just a hair. If the car isn't riding differently and the spacers are the same thickness I'd venture to say it is definitely something simple. Did you measure the thickness of the spacers?
 
Here's the question I have so I purchased some 22"+9 Lexani LSS-10 rims installed today. The shop actually put the wrong tires which are Yokohama Parada Spec X 285/45/22. I actually had asked for 285/35/22. Today when I was driving to work and I took a turn I noticed a noise coming from the tires it seems like the tires are running. Does this mean that I should have spacers installed? If so what would be the best size. Does anyone have an idea of a different size tire that might fit better?

Where exactly are they rubbing? Front or rear? Pics?

If they are rubbing on the inside of the wheel well lip spacers will not help as they push the W\T OUT not back IN. (If its the rubber coming in contact with the well lip and most likely it is) you may want the 35's that you originally ordered. You can take it back to the shop ASAP and ask them take care of the issue as you didn't want the 45's in the first place. OR if you like the look of the fitment and they are near flush you can roll the rear inner wells (about $75.00 per well) and/or gently push the tabs up in the front wheel well that hold the liner in place then shave the edges a bit with an e-xacto knife.

Again this all depends on where you are rubbing and how much.......
 
It appears to be rubbing against the wheel well it only happened when I was turning. The correct tires 285/35/22 I asked for are supposed to be there next week so they said to drive on these tires they gave me and they will replace them.

Definitely need the smaller circumference tires, too much rubber packed in there. When you get aggressive with your drop you will want the added room as well =)

Nice that your tire shop is letting you run on the new tires.
 
Well I told them this is not the tires I asked for and u guys gave the wrong one I did not want too much rubber. I seen another member with the size tires i originally asked for. I'm just hoping they get the correct ones this time. Another question is the rims having an offset of 40 are spacers needed?
