Wheel Spacer Install

if you want the best studs possible use ARP studs. they only come in one length & may need to be shortened for most applications but theres no denying that ARP bolts & studs are among the best you can get... I forgot the exact application that will work for us, think it's a subaru or something, I'll check later, I have a bunch in my trunk. there def a higher grade than most anything else you're going to get. not saying the others are no good though, even the nismo studs are supposed to be pretty good, but I think the best are going to be the ARP's

dug a bit more, you want a 12x1.25 stud with a .565 knurl. it's a subaru application (stock fx knurl is .561 but the Subaru application presses in just fine) ... you would either use an open lug nut or cut the stud down to size though as there ~3" long. these are made for high horsepower racing applications... should be able to get you the actual part # tonight

ha, see we both dug at the same time  & just to add, I do still have mine in my trunk as I never got around to spacers yet, but I have installed these on a G & a Z & they fit & work perfect...

Thing is i sell the H&R stuff here in the netherlands but cannot come on that data true the manufacture in germany. It's US market they say. Most data requires knowing indeed the 12,8 or 14,0 knurl size.

Here comes the stupid thing. I was running neccesary spacers front from 3mm to fit my wheels on to the BBK's.
But had only 4 windings when tightning. Now that is just a bit to less but you know how that goes for yourself it's ok. When i thightend the wheels are taking them off for a clean and a stud broke.
A week before going on a holiday to spain with my car. I arranged Z studs wich were also stronger, but when mounting them we noticed they were a bit loose in the hubs.....the splines didn't match 100% it seemed. * now the stupid part * my mechanic friend said i just tag them a bit on the inside so they won't go anywhere.
ll fine i thought, but now my rotors warp like hell......are checking it seemed my hubs were both ruined due to the welding
So now bought 2 new hubs......have new rotors/pads......but want to do it right this time.
John.....you say you did them on a Z and a G, i heared that these are not exactly the same as our FX.

If they are do you have any ARP product numbers...??

Jeff thanks for always being on top with your replies......appriciate it

This thing just absolutely owned me. Couldn't get the stupid old lugs out no matter what I hit it with. Ended up messing up the thread a little from the socket.

Any part number on the H&R Studs. Need to order new and good onces as my current gave me a lot of trouble.
Can't seem to find it here on the scene.

Jeff...??

If you just want extended studs you can try the Nismo ones. I have no affiliation with this shop nor know if they are good, but a google search for something like this should point you in the right direction.

APR also makes them, but you would need to know the pitch and knurl diameter, neither of which I can help you with.

Z1 Motorsports name comes up frequently on the 370Z forum I'm a member of. They seem to be a good and reputable company.

Not to take away from Z1, I would imagine any H&R retailer might be able to get you some spare studs, such as Stillen and may others.

Got em...!! Called H&R USA and they gave me a part number. Funny all is produced in Gemrany but they don't sell these items. So called the dutch importer and gave them the part number and voila

Z1 performance ( www.z1performance.com ) is a different company then Z1 performance ( www.z1auto.com ). The last one is active on this forum and i already purchased several parts from them. All well and Adam realy helps you out

Z1Performance.com is actually Z1 Motorsports. Don't know why they screwed up the url like that. They are in Georgia, while Z1auto.com is in NY. There was just some confusion about his on my350Z.com actually haha.

Haha i often type in the wrong url as well  but don't know about the guys in georgia honestly so assume they are a good company as well.

Fxlr8- for the drm spacers, it comes with lug nuts. Do i install these H&r nuts at the end when the wheel is on the spacer? or these nuts go on the spacer and i install the oem lug nuts at the end on the wheel?

The provided nuts hold the spacer on. You still would use your factory lugs for the wheel.

Yes, you can remove the caliper bracket/carrier all together with the caliper. Just need to loosen & remove the two 17mm bolts that mount the carrier to the the hub and slide the carrier and caliper of the rotor together.

They stay open as long as you don't press on the brake. You may have wriggle it out. It will be a bit tight, but absolutely doable.
