2006 FX35 RWD
Hey guys,

I'm new at buying wheels for an SUV and was wondering if anyone can help with the following questions.

I found a nice set of wheels that I really like in the following specs (this will be square setup on a RWD FX35)
20x9 (offset available are +36 or +25) which one is better?
Tire size they recommended is 265/50/20 (is this the norm for this spec?)

I do plan on lowering it later on using H&R springs will I have fitment issues?

Thanks for the help.
Jay

Go 25. I'm lowered on 10.5 x 25. Nothing a little roll can't fix (if you even need it on 9s) I trimmed my rear and small tab bend on fronts. What year are you?

Based on your stock tire spec it sounds like you're 1st gen

Go +25. With a 9" wheel you won't rub at all even with no fender mods and H&R's.
so 20x9 +25 won't have any clearance issues before and after lowering?

What about tire size? I have an option of the 265/50/20 or 255/45/20?

No clearance issue with 20x9 +25 wheels. I would go with stock size 265/50r20 on tires

Hey Andy,

Thanks for the help. Should I even consider going staggered or stick to square setup?
the wheels I like are available in 20x10.5 +45 or is that too much?

Personally, I go with square because I can rotate my tires. I want my tire to last!

20 x 10.5 +45 is not too much. If you want your tires to flush with the fender, you can still add 20 mm spacer. My wheels are 24 x 10 +45 with 25mm spacer.

Do you have a picture of your setup?

so if I go 20x10.5 +45 square I shouldn't have any problems lowering it in the future? no rubbing issues?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure I buy the right specs for my FX.

I have 21x10.5 +30 square and 295 tires on coilovers with no issues

Yeah... If you end up going 10.5" width, get wider tires as well... 265's will be pretty stretched on 10.5 considering stock is 8" width...
If I go with 20x10.5 what size tires do you recommend so my speed won't be too far off?

Nice to see you going with a fatter wheel, & if you can get something that doesnt require spacers, even better.
295/45 will give you the same speed reading. I personally like the look of a 40 better and leaves more clearance room, but it will rotate slightly more.
