Whats your Gas consumption like?

Before the upper plenum install, I was getting an average of 19 mpg with a good mix of highway/local drivng with light/heavy footed acceleration. After installing the Kinetix V+, I'm getting an average of 17 mpg now.

Interesting update. I dumped a big bottle of Techron last week in my nearly empty gas tank and this week I averaged 17.8 MPG in a 50/50 blend of open freeway and miserable rush hour traffic.

According to the car.. The average fuel Mileage I got on my 10FX35 is around 14.1 L/100km. that is about 1/2 hiway and 1/2 city. Must be my heavy winter wheels and tires.

what are some easy/cheaper ways to increase your MPGs on the FX? What air filters? dropping? anything that would be useful?

I haven't reset my MPG calculator in while, but I have been at around 17.5 for a while. I do a lot of highway driving, but also a good amount of city driving.

Take out your spare, tools, back seat, carpeting, radio etc... well you said cheap and easy :wink (2):

side note: this is what a lot of exotics do, especially porsche.. they take out every amenity from carpet to radio to make the car lighter and thus faster; with hardly a bump in hp. then they charge you an extra $20K for taking away all of those things :err:

hahaha ... well thank you for that... cheap doesnt mean im going bankrupt and need something that drastic... (not saying i didn't already do that though) i kid

Any ... for lack of a better word...BETTER suggestions?

Cheap in the terms of avoiding future costs - avoid aftermarket rims heavier than stockers (i'm in violation of this)

cheaper as in ... what can i buy/or do now to improve MPG.... does an aftermarket air filter help? dropping it?...etc

Drop in K&N should probably help. Any breather mods... intake, exhaust, etc should help some as long as you don't become addicted to the sound of the throttle and have a lead foot. Drop in K&N would be the least expensive, but I am not sure the kind of MPG gains you would get. I think Jumbo has done some research on MPG improvement. I don't think you would notice any difference from a drop, I know I didn't.

Summer: 50 highway/50 local: 18.5mpg :smile (2):

Now: 100% local with lots of huge hills = 12.5 mpg :mad.:

Recently moved and now i have to commute 10 miles each way to work.
I noticed if i do 50 mph the computer says im averaging 30 mpg. I was suprised to see that.
