here in williamson county, cops are very uptight. i am surprised i've not been pulled over for blacked out tails, it's been 6 days.
 
I don't think it's been brought in this thread, I know I've mentioned it several times in other threads, but just a quick FYI: Escort and Beltronics are the same company. I have the RX65 an it works just fine. Its also got the same internals with the x50. Basically the same unit. The Beltronics STi won't do any better job than a RX65/x50, but it's undetectable by RDD (Radar Detector-Detector). But if you don't live in a state where RD's are illegal then it's kind of a waste. Or also if your a truck driver (in all 50 states).

V1, I'm sure its a great RD but IMO it's also a "word-of-mouth" thing. Everyone say it's great, therefore it is. Its like when people ask what's a good GPS and most people say Garmin. Yet there are plenty of other GPS companies with units that work just as good.

V1 has those arrows and points out where it's coming from. I guess that's a bonus. But honestly, if a RD goes off, I let off the gas and behave accordingly. I'm NOT going to look first (at the arrows) then react. Because if I did...it's too late. All I know is...that thing goes off and I back off to speed limit until I stops. That's all it matters. Doesn't matter where he is.

I think the V1 is about as old as me. That thing has barely changed in ages. Me personally, I think I'll be picking up a 9500ix come September.
 
What kind of radar detector are you running?

I have an escort passport 9500 black with blue led lights and its well worth the money. It has saved me countless times. I recommend it to anyone on the market for a unit.
 
I have the Escort 9500 too and its worth the money and is a very good detector. I run it with a blendmount powered to the rearview mirror. They have a red display now that I want. :ninja:
 
Escort 9500 recently bought with blendmount powered by rearview mirror. New red display. Also I have the smart chord for live social detection.

You have the blendmount? I have the passport 9500 I bought used off fleebay lol I've been thinking about the blendmount.
 
I just learned something new. Didnt even know blendmount existed. Im looking it up now and it looks much more convenient than the wire to the socket. How do you like it? Is it easy to integrate it to your mirror and also where do you silence the detector from?

The blendmount is really nice to have, worth the $70 or so for it. So much cleaner and more professional looking than using the silly suction cup method.
 
BlendMount is the best radar mount. I was a bit hesitated at first for such pricey mount, but definitely worth it. Had it over two years now. $79.95 shipped on ebay.
