What other cars did you consider buying before the FX?

Just got my QX 70. We shopped around looking at the Lexus NX (was too small and SLOW), Volvo XC60 (nice car, but drives like a volvo), Infiniti QX60 (liked it, but too big for us), and Audi Q5 (a little on the small side, plus seems everyone has this car).

Was looking for a Lexus RX for my wife because that's what she wanted. When I came across an FX50 Sport, I somehow managed to talk her into this beast instead. She thinks she got a luxury SUV. She doesn't know it's really a second sports car for me....

Well I've owned and operated over 30 cars in the last 12 years (sort of a bad habit of buying, upgrading the hell out of them, and then selling to start another project). I can honestly say that when I purchased my 2003 FX45 and my 2007 G35X I haven't thought about selling them yet. I'm very satisfied.

I always had my mind on an fx35 so when I finally
saw the opportunity to buy I was all in. Of course I agree with
54fordcoupe. A Porsche 944 or 911 would have been sweet ha!

Looked at buying another IS300, had a 2003 one years ago and loved it, but wanted to change it up some. SUPER happy that I waited another few weeks, and had the FX35 pretty much fall into my hands. Now I just need to make it my own. Thanks! :)

Coming from an Audi A4, I'm only interested in the FX for it's looks and for it's reliability. The A4 has looks, but is not as inexpensively reliable as Infiniti. I haven't had any expensive out of pocket expenses, but it has required expensive repairs that were thankfully covered by Audi of America. I love my ride, but am looking for something stronger. My 2.0T is nowhere near the power output you guys have around here. The only sad thing is that I the FX series do not offer a manual transmission option. That's all I've driven since I turned 18 and I'm 38 now.

Doowop, it seems like it's only a matter of time before Audis run into a slew of problems, most I hear about are electrical. If you are looking for an FX and are used to manual, I would highly suggest looking for one with paddle shifters, or upgrade to them after you find the one you like.

Paddle shifters. Thanks! I'll look into that!

@doowopinfiniti Nice lowered B8 right there...coming from a huge Audi fan and ex owner of another A4
The expenses coincide once it is out of warranty even if maintained at an independent Audi specialist
mine like many others consumed oil at an alarming level sometimes up to 1 liter every 4 to 8 weeks which was within normal specs they said over and over for a turbocharged engine
strange thing is it only affects VAG motors

wifey and I are simply in love with Infiniti now having our current FX following the EX
infiniti is the BMW of the Germans and would still consider an Audi but leased never to own one unless I am ready for it ...no thanks
