What other cars did you consider buying before the FX?

I was looking at the Acura MDX, BMW X5, and possibly a used Range Rover but ended up getting a brand new FX for basically the price of a used BMW and Range Rover. Have not regret making the purchase.

None. We weren't even looking for a new car when we saw the FX sitting in a local dealers lot. It was love at first sight and we couldn't be happier.

Was looking at other used cars, another Jeep Grand Cherokee, MB E Class, Audi A4, ultimately choose the FX because I still wanted a SUV/Crossover with a sporty feel and look to it. I wanted to still be able to fold down the seats and throw snowboard gear and stuff like that in the back, and haul stuff back and forth from school.

I drive the 2010 X5 diesal and the 2011 MB ML350 before I went with the FX. FX was just flat out more fun to drive and offered way more for the money.

I came from poor family, the car that I always want to buy was honda CRV, I like SUV and the CRV was out of my reach... and long story short, I work at Japanese restaurant as a sushi chef and my BOSS from Hongkong drive this OB 2006 FX 35, I was like damn.. that car is really nice. Deep in my heart I said I will bought that kind of car someday!!

Year after year start saving some money and quit my job at that sushi restaurant and now I have my own sushi business, and Finally I bought my own a FX... couldn't be more happier!!!

LOVE MY FX!!

I looked at an Audi S6 Avant... Pretty nice car. But I am much happier with the performance, reliability, reduced maintenance costs and styling of my FX45.
Close Audi but no cigar... I'm loving my Mt. Fuji FX45 :iS:

we originally wanted an EX35 but when we saw the FX on the used car lot we fell in love with the color and brought it home.

I had grand vitara yet )))

I was actually looking at a loaded Xterra. Totally different class, I know. I'm so glad I didn't go down that road though. All utility, no luxury/performance/styling.

I really liked the BMW X6 but it cost too much. Now that I have the FX I like it a lot. Might be more reliable as well.

We looked at an Audi Q5 and a BMW X3. In the end it came down to the Audi Q5 and the FX. The Audi dealer could not keep the Q5's in stock and the waiting list was 4-6 months to get one. We liked the tech better in the Audi but then we started up the FX :tonguey: and it was over we fell in love. End of story

I was looking at Porsche Cayenne S, BMW X5, and Range Rover Sport. But at the end, bought fx35 and just fell in love with it. I sold my 06 G35 sedan for I was familiar with the motor and its attributions. However after seeing the 11 Porsche Cayenne, uhmmm......

The fx45 was a compromise; my wife wanted the space and to be able to go camping and I DID NOT want an suv. the fx is like a sports car with space.

Now of course we NEED an SUV so I either sell the fx and get the qx56 or I sell my E46 M3.

hey carbonduc27, how do you like your e46 m3? i am thinking about getting 2nd car and looking into purchasing 03+ e46 alpine white m3.

Love it! I have a 2001 Laguna Seca Blue

I love the high revving power. it just keeps climbing. I have a ton of miles on it (120k) and have only had to replace the water pump last week (not leaking but looked a little loose). I run track days plus I can get my two kids in the back (not at the same time).

Their are some great deals on E46s now that the e92s came out. check out e46fanatics.com

2010 FX35 Midnight Mocha Buying Exp

I had the TL for quite some time and we were becoming a family from a couple. We wanted the utility w/o the minivan drive feel.

  1. Cadillac SRX: Good on luxury, felt the 3L too small for its size and no fun to drive.
  2. Toyota Highlander: Good on utility, no fun to drive and cheap interior.
  3. Toyota Venza: I don't know what to call it.
  4. Acura MDX: Van like drive, good on utility, way too expensive with hardly any 2010 stock when I was in the market.
  5. Nissan Murano: Good on utility, liked the 3.5L engine, drive was OK, but everybody has Murano (IMHO)
  6. Beasty FX: Drove it & was sold. Impressed w interior, technology, has some utility (I later bought a cargo box) and a little more than the Murano.
That's how it was brought home...
