What other cars did you consider buying before the FX?

i swear this happened to my FX before i got it. i notice little issues up front all the time that leave me wondering. just yesterday i noticed that my hood was a little off because the part of the side panel above the headlight was in a bit too much making the hood not line up flush on one side :tdown:

When the FX and Murano were first introduced, i thought they were the ugliest things i've ever seen and wondered why ppl would buy them. It was one of those really unique cars that need to grow on you. I only started them around 2006 and then it became on of the most perfect looking cars i've ever seen. then BAM! '08 FX!
 
^^^NOT me.... the very first time I saw a FX, my jaw dropped... I was like "Holy %^*%, very BOLD for Infiniti!! LOVE IT!!!" Back then, I just never thought I would end up with one.

Hehe, yeah...I knew I liked the FX more, I just wanted to try the competition within $10-25k so I would have no regrets!
 
hi guys, am new here and should be getting my white fx50s in a weeks time!

anyways back to the subject. i was actually interested in the lexus is300 (they dont sell the 350 out here in dubai), and LOVED it, but the rear legroom put me off.

i then was VERY interested in the Lexus gs460, and almost booked one in white. but then i went to a carshow and saw the 09 infiniti fx. i loved the looks. not nearly as elegant as the GS but very scary looking monster.

well i booked a testdrive for a fx50 and my god that engine just blew me away!!!! i had to have it, even though out here in dubai a lot of the extras are not offered (LDP. IBA. the media card slot, the self-healing paint, DCA, the voice command and the Ipod connectivity). i just hope that infiniti in dubai doesnt add all the features to the fx in the future :-D

Many congrats on the new FX50S. I think it will look great in white. Don't forget to post some pics when it arrives.

But no hands free or iPod connectivity on a brand new $60K luxury vehicle?? Those are standard items on economy cars nowadays. :err:
 
I was hell bent on getting another BMW. And if I could have find a reasonable 530 or 540 year 2003, I probably would have taken it over the fx. I was looking at a 2005 330I ZHP...stick shift. Then reality hit and I said I am looking for something reliable. So I started lookin at new vehicles. I looked at new camry, accord, and did extensive research on the VW rabbit and GTI. I also consider the Hyundai sanata....and the X5.

I started doing research on the FX, and went to a dealer to check them out EARLY in the morning before they open. I went back and test drove the 45 and loved the power but thought the sport was rough and the ride was too jittery(i never liked the ride of SUVs). Then I test drove the 35 without sport and liked the ride better. Long story short, I ended up getting a fx35 sport. I sacrifice the rear entertainment system and nav...which i really wanted and now kicking myself for. I just feel the fx looks blah having that huge screen and minimal use in the dash.

Btw, that's a wide and varied list of candidates you went through there! From economy car to luxury SUV. From $20K to $60K, lol.

I got the fx for a couple of reasons. and yes its the sport package i got.


it was about the same price as a new economical vehicle..a new VW rabbit is 18k and change..and its not even half as luxoreous as the fx

Its infiniti so it should be a a little reliable
Its an SUV but rides like a sports car
Its an SUV that is not huge and i wanted to try an suv
I love the interior layout
And most of all it LOOKS AWESOME sport or non sport.

long way from an fx but when my pops told me he was interested.. i had no contest.. i was a 100% with him on it.. :tongue:

I was looking at an RDX, MDX, Lexus RX. Started looking into used Infiniti's and Nissan Murano's. Everyone in my family who's owned a Nissan product has had nothing but good luck. ( we've owned Datsun 240z, 280zx, 300z) Got in a Murano and it was ok, just didn't like the outside styling.

Then one day I was driving home with my wife on the freeway. I noticed an FX besides me, and it just took off...WOW....that did it! My wife was even like "wow I want one of those!"

My brother had just purchased a Murano...I pulled up to him at my parents house and his draw dropped! He keeps saying they're the same...uh huh..yeah...keep thinking that bro!
