What other cars did you consider buying before the FX?

I had alot of cars in mind before getting the FX. I took interest in the Nissan Altima 2.5S, Nissan Murano S, Nissan Rogue SL, Acura TL, and Lexus IS250 AWD before getting the FX. I kinda got stuck on the IS250 for a while until i was disappointed with the rear seat legroom. It had just as much or even less legroom than the Infiniti EX. Tell about your FX buying story. :rofl:
 
From the day I decided in getting a new car, I made up my mind in getting the FX. The only thing I was deciding on was which dealer to get it from. The sales guy @ the dealer asked if I wanted to test drive it 1st and I said no, but I did eventually coz I was bored waiting for the car to be prepared.
 
2006 G35 sedan. When the deal on the G fell through, I looked at slightly used FXs and found exactly what I wanted. Obviously I do not regret it as I am on my second FX. Now I become depressed when I have to drive a G loaner, LOL.

Also looked at the TL and Murano but I really did not want FWD again and the TL's transmission problems scared me.

audi 6 AWD, acura TL, G35X and FX45.. but gas prices was going up to the moon so i got me a FX35 and i'm loving it!!
 
Like JC, For my daily at this time, I only wanted the FX. Wifey wanted a Range Rover in the fam, but I'm like 'not'.
I needed a 4 dr - safe ride for the kiddies, that was also fun to drive. No other vehicle fits the bill like a slammed FX.
 
i kinda looked at the 3 series, old body style for a bit. i would always shop around for generic types of cars though, sports sedans, sport coupes, sport suvs, until i zeoroed in on the FX and pursued that more. i cant recall every car i "considered", in other words: looked at on autotrader.com :laugh:
 
I considered the 3 series and g35, but there you see A LOT out here...while not too many FX's around. I agree with dave...4-door and fun to drive :wink:
 
I thought the Murano looked nice and considered getting one but fell in love with the FX as soon as I sat in one.
 
I alway's borrowed my friend's fx and luv it but was also looking at the new 08 Acura TL-S but i couldn't compare the TL to the FX lol.
got it with 13.500miles ;}
 
started off looking at Subaru Legacy GT's... then, I decided to stay with the AWD but go with something nicer but still fast... so I started looking at Volvo S60R's... I was VERY serious about buying one too, test drove a bunch of them... in fact, there's a company that's internationally known that mod Volvo's call Evolve... located in Monrovia... When I anwser the ad, I didn't realized who I was talking to... After getting in the car to go for test drive, I asked the guy... I still remember his name... "Don", what he did for Evolve, and he said he was the owner, founder of the company... and I did some checking he WAS. Anyway, this car was FAST AS HELL... It had every mod you can possibly do to it... and then some. Here's a picture of it... (minus the stickers, because this picture was taken at a SEMA convention a few years ago)

But there were a couple things about this car that discouraged me... the leather of ALL the seats, even the back ones... were BEAT... I don't know what da hell they did with it, it only had like 28k miles, but yet... the seats looked like this car was being used as a taxi or something...

AND, it was also a "test car" for ALL the mods and products by Evolve for the S60R... I actually joined swedespeed.com and ask the guys for their opinions... and they all said :tdown:. So I decided against it. BUT MAN!!! It was FAST... It can EASILY hang with, if not take a M5...


...so, I was out one day... test driving yet, another S60R... a private seller in Culver City... it was nice, but it was an automatic... the S60R is really a better car MT, plus the seller had a terrible attitude... so I'm all the way out there in West LA area... and had all day to look around when I decided to go check out some Infiniti G35's. Looked up "dealerships" on my GPS and went to the nearest Infiniti dealer... in Santa Monica. Not a very big lot... but after a brief walk... I saw a FX parked behind a bunch of other cars inside the overhang, marked $25,999 on the window... the rest was history.

I considered a G35 coupe, but I drove my brother-inlaw '07 Fx35 and fell in love. So I bought my '03 Fx45 and it was a match made in heaven!
 
I was looking for an Audi A3 but always loved the unique look of the FX. I went to the Infiniti dealer and after a test drive, I knew I wanted it. Now...3 years later, I want an fx50 but that won't be happening anytime soon.
 
Thought about getting my previous love of my life, Audi TT. Wanted to get one since it first came out. Then I rented the 05 FX35 once. Then rented again and once more after that :biggrin: from Hertz, fell in love with the engine note, handling and the look and bought mine after waiting for the 06 revision.
 
i looked at the S60R, too. i had a '94 940 for my first car, and if i got another volvo it had to be the S60R if anything. never drove one though, too rare and hard to get at the right price/options.
 
One day, on a sunny morning i was driving my 04 Jetta 1.8T to school....was making a left hand turn and someone decided to be a douche and t bone me. car was pretty much totaled. Some would see this as a tragedy, but i saw it as an opportunity to go car searching. had many considerations in mind. First was g35S sedan, then was to porsche cayenne. The porsche didn't quite suite me. I gave it alot of thought and it looked totally like a rich women's soccer mom car. I wanted something sporty yet a suv.

One day i was cruising aorund in my rental...and saw the FX35 in black. LOVEDDDD the exhaust note and how it looked. Took me a couple weeks to settle on the decision. Went to Metro, saw a 08 FX35 sittin in the lot, test drove it...next day brought it home.

I've loved the fx, since the first one I saw/heard drive by me. However, when I could finally afford one, I was also considering the Audi A4 Avant, 2.0 Turbo, and the BMW 530i.
 
almost pulled the plug on the is350, went to a dealer to look at one, then i seen this for sale, low mileage , super clean, i asked the guys for the keys, hopped in started it up, from there it was love
 
I was looking into a G35 coupe, WRS STI, FX35. i drove all 3 and liked them all. By chance i drove the fx45 and loved the power it made. Sure enough i ended up getting it.
 
I wanted a Porsche maybe a 993 or something. But the FX is just way more practical. And i hate German electronics, it took three BMW's to figure that out, and working on friends VW's. Miss the handling of the sport coupes. Still think about getting something sporty every now and then. we'll see... BB
