What is the point of the lights on the rear door.

I was driving behind my fx and noticed that the rear lights that are on the door do not light up nor do they reflect. Are they purely cosmetic or are mine broken?

They are your backup lights. (If your refering to the inner lens on the hatch).

Red lights are brake lights, amber/red is turn signals, white is reverse.

They are neither brake nor turn. Reverse maybe, will check and post.

I know what your talking about. The ones that open with the rear hatch. Unfortunately those are only for backup lights, not brake lights :-(

It would be nice if they also lit up at night, would look much nice, bit like the Audi lights. Hopefully someone on here can figure out a way to keep them on..

Would be too bright and people might mistake them for headlights. Why would you want them on?

Those fake lights should have been brake lights like they have on cayenne or audi q5/q7, just another way for nissan to cut corners to save on production costs.
