What do you dislike most about your FX?

I believe Bklynjohn meant the 5 skinny bars/strips that run perpendicular between the bumper and the chrome strip.

All 1st Gen has them. I know I don't have it.

Ah. So true. However, I still do not like the chrome strip in the front bumper.:bad:

A few things that annoy me:

- The poor quality of the front window. It has hundreds of small pin hole sized pits in it. I hear the glass in Infiniti vehicles is known for this.
- The bubbling dash.
- The audible that goes off when you get to close to the center or side marker line on the road. In PA since the roads are all patch jobs it is set off by the tar they use to seal cracks. Constantly turn this off.
- The fact that every time I open the drivers door it is sure to close on its own soon after.

Sure I find many things annoying but I do like the FX and would be hard pressed to get rid of it.

Does it? It doesn't beep on mines

I hate the brakes on the FX35s

My car doesn't beep when I try to drive off with my e-brake on either. Almost drove off with it on a few times. Luckily I wasn't taking off fast so I noticed the lack of the cars natural acceleration before I gave it gas which is how I noticed the e-brake was still on.

But I think it gives a warning in the odometer display, I can't remember.

My FX do not move with the e-brake engaged even when I press the gas pedal. I seems that all the newer FX models ones got weaker e-brakes and a reminder beeper to compensate, or have a lot more torque across the board if all the newer FXs can still move with the e-brake engaged:)

Overall I like my FX! There are a few things I do not like about it and they are as follows:

(1) Cabin noise, I realize I could completely take out the interior and add Dynomat or something but Infiniti could have done better.
(2) The wheel bearings, it seems as if they don't last nearly as long as other cars I have owned and currently own.
(3) The brakes, they just plain suck! Have already addressed that issue!
(4) The suspension, as well all know the suspension is that of a sedan that's 1000 pounds lighter. Again that has been addressed!
(5) The seat material quality, drivers seat is starting to crack, better material could have been used.
(6) Wheel shake, ride quality. The fx seems to be very finicky in regards to aftermarket tires and wheel setups!
(7) The warranty, the way Nissan has the warranty payment to the dealers, There is very little incentive for them to diagnose and repair your vehicle via the warranty. As warranty work pays a fraction of their general rates. As a result, we are often told its your aftermarket wheels, tires etc. And allot of us find ourselves going to multiple dealers and essentially having to fight with them to get our repairs properly diagnosed and repaired,

Other than that, the car handles well and is a freakin tank in the snow! All in all I'm pleased but am starting to get a bit bored with it!

I really like my FX overall, things I don't like would be the shaky drivers seat, not so good quality leather on seats, my 09 fx does not come with a power tailgate, that should have been standard.

Everything else, I like!!!

^ sounds like your brake is just super tight, nothing wrong with that ;)

I guess my e-brake is set tight. I have never adjusted the e-brake since I owned the FX, because I never had a problem with it holding the FX on a hill or incline. If it is super-tight I like that way.:good: However, It seems that I may have to adjust the e-brake on the next FX I purchase though.

I have to agree with you about the crap seats. I was hoping the newer models got better seats. Oh well, I will still suck it up and buy a new FX anyway, because if I wanted great comfy high quality seats I would buy a boring Lexus or Volvo SUV instead of the sportier FX. That is a trade-off I do not want to make. Porsche Cayenne Turbo maybe:good:

I don't know what you mean about crappy seats but mine are doing just fine. If you keep your seats conditioned since day one you shouldn't have any problems. And an FYI if your using conditioner that you buy in stores like meguiars or turtle wax etc those don't work. Leatherique or zaino is the best. My seats are holding up fine right now.

I can not comment on the second generation seat quality, but the first generation FX seat quality is not top notch compared to it rivals in my opinion due to the vinyl side bolsters. However, I have read a few posts by second generation owners who seem to have the same complaint as the first generation owners, the example being the poster before myself a few posts back, but I am glad it is not a common problem among most second generation FX owners.
