What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

image.jpeg Project Day today, Brake Job (Just in time on one of rear pads), replace bad front hub, everything went great right up until it was time to torque front hub nut. Turns out my torque wrench only goes up to 150 ft lbs and the hub nut is 203-215 ft lbs.[/QUOTE]
My new 250 ft lb torque wrench just arrived so now I can finish the job.

It was minimal but eve time I was working and I looked at the fx it would drive me crazy looking at it. I actually was debating whether to do it or not and eventually I decided to just get it done. Now just have to get the brakes done and will prob be done for a little bit.

Can you point out what's different? I'm not kidding. Have no clue & cannot see it
I thought I had a picture to show the difference but this is the best one I can find. The lip and the bumper don't really match. The kit is color code K51 and my fx is KAD it was close but the way the light hit it it would show it

I think the lip is lighter. For lack of a better term has a tinge of goldish compared to the silver grayish color tone of the car. IHMO, not really that noticeable unless you know that the lip is a separate trim than the rest of the car. I think one has to be very critical and look hard at the vehicle with a mind set to find that color disparity to be able to spot it.

Overall, a very nice looking ride Oscar. I can see why you did the upgrade from the 1st gen.

That's why I ended up getting the whole Aerolip painted over to match the rest of the fx. The front lip was what stuck out the most and that's what drove me crazy and now the whole fx matches

BTW, on the side pics, I don't spot any difference at all. It is possible the curvature of the front lip plays to magnify the minuscule difference. Even uniform color in any vehicle will portray different shades under the light with the curves of the vehicle reflecting more light than flat surfaces.

I would say, don't worry about it Oscar. The color disparity is very negligible in my opinion.

Part of it has to do with the material the paint is on. You can take the exact same paint and put it on aluminum and plastic and have two very different hues even though the color is identical. My new Shark fin is that way.

Technically if you look at that front end pic, you can see a difference in the color between the two materials used where the quarter panel meets the front end.

I already got it painted this week. It was not that big of a deal but I could tell that it was two different shades and it was driving me crazy so I had to get it done
