What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Really? The guy told me if he rolled the fenders the plastics would lose shapes and stuff

To avoid the tire wall being shred up, everyone that lowered and pushes the wheel out using wheel spacer for the stance and flush look will need to the rolling and trimming. You have to remove the plastic wheel well molding, roll the top of the wheel well arch between the two screws, and then trim the plastic molding at the same area as the rolled fender. I done a few fender rolling and trimmed the molding without any issue.

u6e9ehyq.jpg got a car wash fixed the rubbing issue now jus gotta find out how to lower the front or raise rear

Rear is on max height jus music system weighs it down and front is only three threads left ima let it settle before lowerin even tho three wont do much but lets see

I can't imagine what type or how much audio equipment would weight the car down that much. My guess, 200 lbs? If so, there is a problem with your coilovers.

+1. I totally want to see a picture of this audio setup. Must be one hell of a system.

Inb4 he has like 4 jackhammer 15's in there.

Ya I agree with everyone, you must have a crazy custom system back there for it to weigh the rear down that much. Def post pics I'm interested to see it

Total system is about 225 lbs but i brought it back to my installer and everything looked install wise all he told me was that he didnt want to go up the 3 threads bc since the rear spring on our is seperate hes afraid it wud pop out or something if i hit a bad bump, but yeh as far as jus the spare tire in there and my system which is 6ery8aba.jpg

What? I don't even have words... Just questions.... How did that fit?
What is behind the sub boxes? Are the rear seats out? What powers that? A small Cummins diesel?

I found the limits of grip today. The VDC helped save me I'm sure. A quick S turn on ramp got the back end moving. That became a short 4 wheel drift as the VDC and I worked together to avoid the tree and the ditch. Quite fun, but disappointed in the FX. That was my first spirited driving attempt in it.

That's what I get for buying a 2wd with no rear sway bar and Bridgestone Dueler tires on 18" rims .... :)

I'll make it better :)

^^^my friend, who did your system? That is not a good install. Way too much going on there for that to sound proper. I feel sorry for guys when i see installs like that. Have you ever been to a car audio show? Do you belong to any car audio websites? You should do some research as you don't need all of that to have loud clear sound. Are those home audio boxes? I wish you were close so you could hear my system and my bass and i can still see out of the back and my box isn't higher than my back seat. So much i want to say on that install. Just not a proper car audio install at all. How many amps are in there? What are they running? I really want to help improve your install and sound. I am speechless, no joke. Do you pull those boxes out at a meet to play music for everyone? So sad for me to see an install like that in a fx 35. No disrespect my friend but i am sad now

I don't know, 225lbs is a lot, but it still shouldn't sag that much. I've put more weight than than in the back of mine, and it barely made a difference in the static height (this was even before I went to higher rate springs). I had my coil overs set on lowest setting and even with 300+ lbs of stuff, it wasn't as low as yours.

The comments your installer is making gives me the impression he doesn't know what he's doing in terms of coil over install. If he set the preload on the shock correctly, there is no way for a spring to pop out. They are separate, but you are supposed to adjust the spring height, then jack up the spring mount and adjust the length of your shock until you get to 5mm preload. So basically the shock is now 5mm shorter than the spring so the shock would top out before the spring ever got loose. If he doesn't know to do that, then I'd be questioning things. And on the flip side, if he adjusted the shock too short, then it wouldn't matter where you set your spring height, the shock will just preload the spring and your rear will stay low. Long story short, check your preload.

And springs don't settle, if they did eventually all of our cars would be on the ground. If the install was done correctly and control arm bushings adjusted to new ride height, the car won't get any lower. It can't. Cars are just higher when you jack them up and put it back down, as soon as you drive it, it's at it's normal height. If you jack up your car right now and put it back down, it will be higher even if you didn't touch the suspension. As soon as the car moves, it's at normal height.

That system seems like it's more built for events/shows and such, like a rolling party. Doesn't seem like he could drive with the 2 boxes just sitting like that, doesn't look like the hatch would close. Plus it doesn't make sense to aim full range speakers at the hatch. But even without the extra speakers, the sub/amp box is huge.
