What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Looks great... Did you have to heat any part wrap to get it to fit right?

I had to heat the corners (I think those the hardest) and the center where the clock goes (heat-stretch-3x-cut the middle)

Looks good Mike. Make sure you line the pattern up with the rest of the console and ashtray now.

Thanks Andy... I didn't even think about it.... But I went across the sheet for this one, and my sheet is on the long side, so should be OK

Yeah what Andy said, line it all up, or it will look just odd :)

It's good to use some vinyl primer on corners and rounded parts so it sticks to it better. Remember vinyl does shrink even after you're done with it, so might need some touching up the next day.

Other than that, looks great!! :) the more you do it, the easier it gets.

Sanded down the lettering on the middle brake light then tinted it with some vinyl, to blend better with the tail gate. Finished wrapping the rear door handles in CF. Pix tomorrow, got dark real fast.

Before you reinstall, heat the vinyl up and then let it cool off a few more times. This will help it retain it's shape. Otherwise, as soon as it gets hot, it will try to flatten back out and lift off the corners. Vinyl has a "memory" and since it's cast flat, it will revert to that unless you set it.

Came home from work last night and heard a hiss. I thought the exhaust was wet and drying off but it turned out to be a nail in the right rear tire. I called out CowTippers I and II (they are 7 and 9 years old respectively) and had them take the tire off and showed them how to put in a temporary plug.

^ you mean CalfTipper I and CalfTipper II

disappointed of no pics of them learning the process :ninja:

LOL!

We were in a bit of a rush. Had to get if fixed in time to pick up Ms. CowTipper from a Christmas work function.

No BS here, but I did it without taking off my suit. The reality is I had the tire off and I could have simply taken it to my tire guy with the other car (btw, I'm going to have to do that anyway to get the tire fixed properly) but I want the boys to know that life is more than just throwing money at problems and more importantly, never pay anyone to do anything you can do yourself.

For the record, below are pics of the little bastids sanding down the shoes and drums on the old Accord last summer. I know...I know...the asbestos. But hell, I've been sanding down shoes and drums since I was 6 and I'm ok...I think....:bulgy-eyes:

As nearly every day: I removed tons of snow from my FX:

The car on the left, that looks as taller as mine, is not a suv; it's a small Mazda3 - so you can tell how much snow we already get every other day on our cars in Montreal ;)
