What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

It looks really nice from that small pic! Looks like you painted the lowers on the side, but left the dark area for contrast. That's how I would have done it too, can't wait to see more pics! :good:

yeah thats exactly what I got done. I didnt want to paint the whole lower part because I thought it would look better like this with the contrast just like you said aero and yeah I will deff post pics after I get her all cleaned up :smile (2):

Yeah, I would do the same in the front. If I ever paint the OEM front bumper, I would do everything body color and leave the whole middle section blacked out too. Kind of like that diffuser look going on. :good:

Forgot to mention....last weekend I was at Handy Andy's and we installed on my FX:

GTSpec front strut bar, HID Fog morimotos 5000k, and the osram 5000-5500k bulbs. Probably only have about 6 hours of burn in. I notice the strut bar difference right away and want the rear now and the rest of the bars lol.

Thanks Andy for all your help! It was awesome seeing you too Andrew!

JD. What's the overall affect of the strut bar? Our ride's are pretty tight as is. Does it tighten up the ride more during acceleration?

Any pics? :)

Did a full top to bottom engine bay detail. Took off all the panels, degreased, scrubbed, rinsed and treated. Used Vinylex for the treatment. Love the stuff.

Shots of the bay top (no bottom shots, forgot to take some with panel off). Also forgot to take before shots (grrr) but it was about 2.5 years of accumulated dirt and grime, bottom was bad from a leaky oil plug (bad crush washer) and leaks from adding during oil change, that is ALL gone. Underneath looks close to pristine.

Used a combination of Gunk and Zip degreaser and a tire brush. Next time I'm going to invest in a long throw brush for the harder to reach spots.

Thanks for the link RIP. Looks great in a 35.... unfortunately I'm not so sure what the end result is in a 50. From the GTSpec site it notes that the bracket needs to mount under the engine cover and modification is necessary. Maybe Jonas will post up some pics. In the mean time going to do some searching. It's definitely a tempting mod though!

engine looks great.

engine cover fits on top of the bar barely, but does. No way the bar will fit over the engine cover even with modification. I might end up removing my engine cover and side panels if I ever also get an intake.

bar is a must. I want to get the rest now.

Come on now Jd, post a pic! :)

I'm eyeing a few mods now. First will likely be spacers, followed by the upper strut bar. From there on we'll see. The car is pretty damn tight as is.

As for today I spent an hour or so detailing parts of the interior. Still have leather to do and carpets to shampoo. I'm on a roll!

I think I have one on my computer at home....I'll try to remember to upload. Like you need a pic...you're gonna get one anyway! lol

Haha!

First I need to figure out how to get the damn cover off ;) I haven't checked "that" much but can't find any tips on removal and the service manual isn't very helpful (the blow up picture is about useless). :)

Took us like 2 hours to figure it out the first time.

from the front just lift up hard with both hands, and then pull towards you to release from the rear. I had to find out the hard way. lol

Get the front strut bar you won't look back , I have it and I'm gonna get the rest of the bars and about the engine cover don't even think the dealer know how to remove it they broke mine .......
