What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

I'm missing those wheels already Logan
I'm sure the FX50 wheels will look extra sharp with a new finish and repair. I'll have to catch up with you to check 'em out when it's all done.

It depends on the weight you are towing.
I have all three sizes:
1 7/8" (rated for up to 2,000 lbs)
2". (Rated for a range of 3,500 to 8,000 lbs)
2 5/16". ( Rated for 6,000 lbs and up)

I think 2" is the most common size.
As to shank size, I prefer the 1" diameter shank over the 3/4".

You should hold off purchasing the ball until you know what you are hooking up to.

I agree with holding off on the ball until you know what trailer to match. BUT, if you just want one on hand just in case, go ahead and invest $10. Chances are you'll likely need a 1 7/8 over the 2", but you never know.
I think the shank size is pretty universal. My 2" is a straight fit and my 1 7/8 came with and spacer.

How was the install as a whole?

The install was easy!!! took like 20 mins. the OEM hitch (came with the trailer hitch) thing is 3/4 inch shank. imma probally buy a 2 inch ball

The 3/4" shank will be fine for you, you will not be pulling heavy loads. If you are towing light utility trailers or other things like hitch mount bike racks then you will probably just need a 1 7/8" ball like pork said.
I use the 2" for most of my towing needs except for my boat which requires a 2 5/16" ball because of th boats weight.

Added my Infiniti Scene Decals!

*The "Links&Kinks" decals on the roof rails are my friends business close to me. They are an amazing bike shop and they also do powder coating (have done lots of Pro BMXers bikes and do rims, whatever you want) and make all sorts of Vinyl stickers. Think he just bought a shirt press too! Had to rep!
