What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Did you do the new pad bedding or seating procedure?

Lowered it some more, no wheel gap now. Also had to take out 15mm front spacers (fender sat on tire at this height). It didn't rub much before, but it was enough to rub off one of the bolts holding the wheel liner in. I'll put them back in once I figure out how to adjust camber on BC's. Also going to pinch front fenders at some point for more clearance. Still waiting on shop to finish suede wrapping the sun visors.

And...?

I must be getting old.. like the WOT sound but missed the OEM quiet cabin sound. I had driven it without the tips and that might had left a bad taste in my mouth. I'll get more miles on it and see how it goes. Currently the tips are tacked in and would still have some play adjustments. One thing is for sure, the FX moves when I floor it, mpg aint getting any better tho :disapointed:

get that gopro out and start recording asap!

crap, I need to dig up that Hero2. I've been so busy lately, all my camera/video stuff has been just sitting on some shelf.

Were you driving slow, window open, gangsta lean and all Soon?

I believe aiya does that all the time, I'll try that style once it's all buttoned up. :smile (2):

did the brakes bedding procedure on the freeway at 4am.. 60mph to 10mph then back to 60mph.. did it 8x... brakes smelled after my 5th run.. then it was straight to work at 530am.. will see if the shaking went away later..

When i did it with my new rotors there was so much smoke I actually stopped to make sure nothing was on fire! Which rotors do you have?

I did the resurfacing of the rotors a few months ago. Afterwards I had a horrible vibration. took everything off checked it put it back on again, still there. Tried brake bedding. (I did on a large local road, I don't think freeway is a very safe idea.) Didn't do anything. Turns out I guess there was a slight warp to them, and the turning made it worse.

Ended up ordering a set of rotorpros and after installing those didn't have any issues.

If you have the factory rotors lots seem to have issues with those on resurfacing. I got o'riley to refund the surfacing and give me new pads since they noticed a warp and did it anyway.

oem that is in the car.. saving to upgrade to bbk.. wait, you actually stopped while doing the bedding process.. it says never stop after the bedding and to continue driving to cool down the rotors.. stopping right after while your brakes are baking hot, will leave an imprint on your rotors of your brake pads of not warp them.. after my 8th run, i just continued driving on to work.. that was an extra 20 mins continuous driving on the freeway after the fact..

the problem is finding a road long enough to continue driving after the bedding process to let your brakes cool down.. i did it this morning when there was hardly any cars and stayed on the outermost part of the freeway.. wanted to do it last night but figured less cars on the road in the early mornings.. less than 2 exits and i was done.. but then again how long were the 2 exits apart? :smile (2):

I did stop, because I actually thought something was on fire. I did the procedure again after that and everything turned out fine. No shakes or squeaks ever since. This was last year sometime...
